Well its time for me to chime in here since I seem to be the crook. I am making NO profit, I do not need it. I did this for our hobby and for a gentleman who just came out of retirement. The reason he came out of retirement was to help his son who was crippled from the waist down in an...
I think 100dollarman has that one in the bag. I am working on plan B. More to follow on this topic and I promise to provide our "experts in manufacturing" some fodder...
Frodo I am not going to debate someone on this issue. If you are not happy with the price then do not buy them. That is how capitalism works. There is work involved beyond setting up a steel plate and shooting holes thru it with a 50 cal. (Read what dm wrote in his post)
I put a lot of time...
When I started this and saw the price out there was 275 I thought , this cannot be right. Daniel is right about it being more than a plate with holes. If that was the case the classifides and ebay would be loaded. These must be machined to strict tolerances, that allow wheels to mate to the...
As promised, below are the inprocess pictures and the finished product. I had 4 made to start (and to work out the bugs). I am going to have them make me another 12 to sell on here. I should have them by the end of next week. The pictures below show the completed machined plate, painting...
This guy (I think his name is Murphy) also takes credit for placement of the master cylinder and air pac. Last weekend I also installed an alternator on a deuce, and 1 hour into it I called my son and asked him what the trick was to this. I told him I had 5 cuts on my right hand from first...
I bought a M35A2 that said runs, w/w, and had a fuel fired heater. It ran alright, it ranaway and I am glad my sons are sharp and immediately pulled the mushroom cap and choked it before it did damage. Got the IP squared away and found the fuel pump was bad and the IP was doing all of the work...
The Maryland MVA is very strange about the SF-97. It is NOT a transferrable document. I tried to put a truck that I purchased in my sons name, they said no way, and I had to title it in my name, and then do a title transfer once the title came. I would go the route of using the Alabama title...
Update. We bolted up the first plate to a wheel today. I like it. We are going to reduce the lug opening. They will be in my hands on Wed. I am shooting to mount at least one with a tire to take to gilbert. If i do not get to take it i will send my son PHD up with a wheel.
You do not get a detailed mechanical history. You get the date of manufacture, who built it, contract, what unit it went to, was it transferred and maybe it will tell you it was rebuilt. remember the info is there if some one put it into the system. Now to add to this, i have one truck that is...
The best chance you have to getting the real story is to donate to this site, and have Carnac search your VIN. I had a depot rebuild and it showed up under the truck history.
