Here in KY, I've used the registration and vehicle s/n as a composite VIN #. Had the title from GL and GP reflect the same number. No problems with the county clerks office. My M813 w/w is registered as a Historic Vehicle, the rest are "Farm trucks". Easy-peasy....
Actually had to get the rotary file out and open the metal. Still tight after that. The other rebuild I had, Soldier B beat the metal back w/ a ball peen.

The Chaplain raise a very good point; a little preplanning goes a long way. Especially for guys like us that have "stuff" collected/stored. My wife would consider it all junk.
Yep, I would mount just like the military intended it to be mounted. The generator has it's own CG, the heavy end is forward of the axle.
Going to be a nice set up. Plenty of room forward of the gen. for storage.
To keep it stable both a highway speeds and unhooked, put the majority of the weight forward of the axle. If not, it will wag its tail down the road. Is the trailer equipped with a aft support leg? If not ,install one.
Once the CG is correct, it will pull great behind your Chevy.
I have one from each manufacture. Pibbs and Turtle Mountain were original manufacturers. Eastern, I believe, rebuilt them. I have an '09 rebuild. No real difference, the newer/rebuilt units use a little lighter gage of metal for the bed. They all work fine. Go for a rebuilt unit, Tires...
