That may not be all bad, peakbagger. With some luck the diagnostic system may already be eliminated.

SHHH!! I was hoping to snag a parts SEE for cheap.

Too late. I'm curious now, so I'll try to remember looking it up tomorrow. Too many load "a lot" on their trailers without giving any thought to GVWR or tongue weight. Yes, when/if I put a SEE on the 30-footer I'll be over both on the trailer and max tow capacity of the 1-ton (it has 3.73 gears...

Oh, you had to ask, didn't you, Ahab? I don't remember how much it weighs (but I do know where the title is, so I can look it up). Anyway, it sits on 7,000-lb. axles so probably good for about 9-10,000 lbs. The trailer itself is plenty stout, but it is axle/spring/tire limited at this point. I...

Yeah, a fuel/water separator would be better. A very large one would be better yet in my case.

"Had" is more like it. He's nearly broke and has been for the 25-something years I've known him. But when he did have money, he spent it wisely.

Good point. I need to look into that possibility, too. And check what the fuel level is...I've bled out gallons by now.

Okay, that works for me. Cheaper ammo, too. But it'd still be fun to let my friend take a few shots with a .50, just because.

Bring your wallet and come get it. One thing that really impressed me with this one is that there's no weld at the kink on the gooseneck. It's built the right way, not the easy way.

Nah, you need a 220 Volt unit for a BOOM.

    Non-military 20' Trailer Strengthening Advice

Exactly! That's how I ended up with 16 trailers, and would still like to have a few more. Then again, I really should sell the 25-foot aluminum gooseneck, the home built light tandem axle made especially for my flatfender Jeep, and maybe even the extra low overall height enclosed V-nose...well...

Yeah, in your case it'd probably be hard for a rock to find its way into the intake tract even without any filtration. I also run both filters, and in a fairly dust free area, but good filtration (be it for air or fluids) certainly can't hurt.

A friend that lives nearby has a few, so that could be arranged. If we pay for the ammo I'm sure he'd be happy to partake in putting some Michelins out of their misery. And you know I don't have video capabilities. Okay, there's a video button on my camera, so it has them. I don't. Speaking of...

I only have two that are damaged at this point, but since I still run Michelins on all but one FLU chances are good I'll have more wounded ones by spring. What caliber would you prefer for the shootout? Not that it really matters as long as it's above .22 shorts.

Oh no! Please say it isn't so. How on earth will you know if the filter gets dirty? Look at it?!?

Good one, corelokt! Coincidentally, I've been reading up on intake air density recently, and it bugs me when even Banks' web site calls a charge air cooler "intercooler". Thankfully, Gale still refers to them by their correct name in conversation.

Here's where we get back to the regularly scheduled trailer programming, Ahab. I know what you're saying about loading and unloading a non-deckover, Dan. This morning I ordered 84-inch fork extensions because of one. In theory that should allow loading a cabover camper onto an 18' gooseneck...

Hmm, things must've changed in the last couple of years. I had to have an MRI, couldn't really take the 1,000-mile trip to CA (where I was insured at the time) and went to a local outfit. They said "If you're paying cash, you get a rebate." I asked them if a credit card counted as cash, they...

Dan, thinking about this last night a few thoughts surfaced. I couldn't help but compare my most recent trailer purchase with the $4,000 you mentioned for a new trailer. I ordered a '17 PJ 30-foot gooseneck, with tandem duals, disc brakes, air suspension, "black wood" decking, custom color, and...

Good point, Ahab. I better do it while the ACA is still in effect, huh? More importantly, Dan, please make sure that your tetanus shot is current.
