Somehow I got a double post. In looking for another TC would it be correct to assume that the linkage for the 208 I have now with the TH400 would also work with a 208 and 700r4 combo? I'm thinking that keeping a 208 TC in there will keep things simpler. Thanks
Thanks for the help and pointers. I guess I'll keep the 700r4 for now and look for parts. I haven't had a 700r4 apart. Is replacing the output shaft something a shop should perform? Special tools etc? Besides the output shaft is there anything else I need? Thanks.
Greg
I bought a 91 Chev half ton 2wd pickup for the banks turbo on the 6.2. It has the 700r4 in it with low miles, but the 6.2 is seized because it blew an oil line. Is it worth it to save the transmission for my M1009? What would I need to do or parts to find to bolt it to a 208 or a 205 transfer...
Your saving $ with the alternative fuels, but they won't give you the MPG that diesel does. You probably would get 10 to 12 mpg with straight diesel. You are singled out with the 9.00x20's?
Is there some fender trimming up front? 34.5" tires usually rub without trimming or lift. 1100x16r are very skinny surplus tires and will fit those rims but you will need alot of trimming or some trimming even with a 4" lift. I was thinking a zero rate with a 4" lift would be best and maybe...
I found the answer over at colorado K5. They said they found the answer here on SS. There is supposed to be a jack pin in one of the slots that aligns with the keyway in the spindle. A 4-40 screw will take it out. There is no socket that fits the 6 pins. It should be loose after I get the pin...
What may work for 1 M1009 not necessarily will work for another. I've been trying to find the right tool to remove the spindle nut. I have a 4 pin socket that I have used to remove the nut on a different M1009 but my daughters M1009 is a 6 pin. Other threads mention a rare spindle nut and one...
I'm replacing the rotor on my daughters M1009 and saw this recent post. I too have only seen the 4 point nuts until now. This M1009 has a 6 point that is in the threads of the nut (inside) and it's smooth and round on the outside without the 4 slots that I have seen before. Does anybody know the...
I have a 95 dodge and the headlights are a weak point with a melting headlight switch. If your connection in the fuse box gets corroded heat will be produced when current demand rises. The worse the connection becomes the more heat thats produced. The fuse often doesn't blow and your fusebox...
The jacks came with big caster wheels bolted to the bottom of the jacks for rolling the shelter, probably on and off the truck but I don't have any flat areas, everything around here has a slope so I removed them and used blocks.
The jacks came with the shelter, I didn't add them. I'll get a closeup picture.
I stated it won't rot only because that is my experience, I'm sure it eventually will, but one board I used under my shelter was partially buried in dirt for the last 10 years and showed no sign of rot yet. I just...
I'm still in need of the front crosspiece, and while the bed rails may not have been part of the shelter hardware, the military did install them with the other shelter carrier hardware pieces on my truck. I'm the 1st civilian owner. I'll get a picture of the rails.
Thanks for the pictures willey10. It seems all these shelters were built different. I haven't seen 2 built the same. I'll try to post a picture of mine.
Was a plate that covered the side rails of the pickup box part of the shelter hardware on the M1028?
Thanks
