    LMTV A1 fast idle ghosting

Anecdotal, but my A1R has always gone to normal high idle rpm and I've tried it with cold starts well below freezing.

Not quite, notice the 40°F delta with 1.4kw, so about double that to hit 70f. It also took a LONG time to bring the interior up to temp so that 5kw will be very handy for that. It as a 2.5 kw power as well and will be heating water too so cycle time should be kept in check I would think.

I think I'm going to go with this unit, I like the enclosure and found it for $1093.

Did some research on heating and cooling requirements today. Put the wife's space heater inside in the morning and ran all day. Measured power output at 1.4kw. Ideally would have gone longer but makes it pretty clear the 5kw diesel heaters will be more than sufficient reguardless of outside...

No idea how the wifey managed to convert the truck with her selfie :shrugs:

    A1R brake pedal valve up(down)grade.

With the Eco hubs, 1/2 the normal torque is trying to turn the wheels while at idle but in drive. Not sure it makes a huge difference as brake pressure requirement to hold the vehicle is likely not a linear relation with drum brakes.

Used it to take the family to the park, met a guy with a 2.5 ton, chased the kids around playing tag, youngest painting a storage box that goes behind passenger seat.

    A1R brake pedal valve up(down)grade.

Have to use a lot less at the lights after switching to Eco hubs

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Best price I've heard of for new, where did you source them?

    A1R brake pedal valve up(down)grade.

Hmm, not impressed with pedal feel but all the air brake trucks I've driven feel about the same. Wonder how much of a difference I could actually get... It's a big difference from race quality hydraulics I'm used to and I know I'd never get close to that.

Nice to have some quick and easy mods. Installed fire extinguisher bracket with 5lb drychem. Also did a full rebuild on air dryer as it was leaking out the discharge

HEUI Troubleshooting - Injection Pressure Desired and Actual Mismatch

Do you have those part numbers? I looked out of curiosity a while ago and just saw the kit with the pump too. If you've already done the leg work that's great!

I get the general concept, the motor was never engineered for an axial load (well beyond force from the motor fan) since it's built for static environments. Everyone will try to void warranty but from an engineering perspective, the speed shouldn't put an excessive load of the bearings. They are...

Hadn't given it much thought honestly, I like the idea. I can easily design up some covers.

Mattresses came in today, custom cut, 6" thick, a bit over $800 for all 4 with covers. Put the generator mount on. Styled similar to hydraulic tank shield. .135" corten steel, aluminum wheel cups to mount generator. A strap will go over the top. Makes for easy removal.

A combination, I'll have a shore power option. I have a 3800 running watt generator (Harbor Freight Predator 5000), the battery system hasn't been fully defined but it getting narrowed down - currently looking at Victron Quattro II 3K fed into a Victron autotransformer to make the 240 split...

How long can I go after Alternator stops working w/four 12v batts? and diagnising/fixing 200amp hummer alt on LMTV

Great info! I want to check my C7 at some point. So a shunt vs a clamp meter? Can you explain why (I have a clamp meter that can do DC and would obviously be easier the a shunt setup).

Fujitsu 09LZBH1, has the most efficient ratings for both cooling and heating of any brand. Supposedly a reliable competitor with Mitsubishi (their 9kbtu is a decent amount lower on efficiency - this on is seer 33 I think Mitsubishi is 25). This is the low temp unit and provides efficient heat...
