    2019 TX MV Rally

The weather keeps predicting rain, no rain, rain, no rain, etc.... So, I put the CUCV M1008 cargo cover on the M715 last night. I haven't had it on the truck in years and it appears to have shrunk. I know it went down to the bed rails in 2012. But, I don't think I have used it since. So...

    M1009 lacks power

It is like there are two different threads going on at the same time here. One part of the thread has a totally stock M1009 with 85,000 miles, 4 radios and can't go over 35 mph. If everything is stock as in tires, axles with the 3.08:1 ratio and transmission. 35 mph at sea level when holding...

    2019 TX MV Rally

Going to miss visiting with you Mark. I can’t make the meeting tomorrow night at Mabry either. I put the hard hard top on the M715 today and put in the cargo bows. I will leave the cover off until I get there. Driving with the cover on is like adding a barn door or three and really slows me...

    2019 TX MV Rally

The rain is still in the forecast. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If it is still there tomorrow. I am going to put the hard top back on the M715 and probably the cargo cover on as well. Probably still tent camp, but at least I will have a dry place to cook my food.

    2019 TX MV Rally BUY/SELL/TRADE

Dang Carnac. You are dangerous to my wallet when you decide to show up at these things. I’ll stick to the metric sockets I already wrote you about and have to look through the rest on site. Two different events and selling go on this weekend. There is the stuff among us at the Rally. This...

    Looking for cold air intake

You want civilian Chevy or just anything? CUCV trucks didn’t come with a hose from the air filter to the valence. Only some civilian trucks did. If you move your front battery a bit and look at the valence, you will see the cutout for the hose attachment. you need that piece, the plastic molded...

    DIY m101 cover?

It helps to have some kind of structure underneath to put a bow into the top. This really helps going down the road and anytime it is sitting with rain or snow going on. A little time with a heat gun and some 3/4 inch PVC makes this a super cheap and simple thing to make.

    2019 TX MV Rally BUY/SELL/TRADE

Well, since you want payment in Wampum.... Nope, I don't have any Wampum laying around extra either.

    2019 TX MV Rally BUY/SELL/TRADE

We normally have a small online presence before the Rally. But, historically have a pretty good showing at the event with a lot of parts/pieces trading hands before the event is over. I think as a group we are middle aged and up. That puts us in the demographic of having to pay taxes mostly...

    2019 TX MV Rally

At least you have the fancy light aluminum frame for the tent. So, in 5 weeks which is when the Rally is. You can tell yourself again how bad it could have been.

    2019 TX MV Rally

Dang Mark. Get well soon. You have to be able to climb that ladder to camp.

    Possible rear main leak fakeout.

I tried putting a gas distributor gasket on a 6.2 vacuum pump. Same size hole but the inside of the gasket is too big to fit over the pump. It needs to be cut. Then it should fit. I didn’t get that far. My new, but old dried out cork gasket broke when I tried it on. I went with the Right Stuff...

Trying to chase the cause of offset steering wheel.

    Check your rag joint too.

Camping tomorrow. Truck wont start. Wiring questions.

How did you check for power at the fuse at the very bottom on the fuse panel? The fuse holder leads tend to relax over time and not keep a good grip on the fuse is why I am asking.

    where does this part belong?

It is your key in the ignition buzzer as mentioned above. You have to pull the steering wheel and the lock plate to get to where it would be.

    Light for floor shift bezel

Yes, the civilian trucks had a light. All you need is a light holder just like the front fender marker lights and it will pop right in. It is totally useless in use though. One click back is 4hi, then over to N and another click back is 4lo. A light isn't really needed for that.

    Flywheel clutch info needed

I just put a 6.2 and a 6.5 flexplate next to each other and looked them over. Everything was the same except the part number as far as I could tell. No massive weights or anything like that on one that wasn't on the other. Most direct drive starters were automatic or manual specific. All...

    Injection pump question

The 4911 is the pump every person with a turbo wants on their 6.5. Just letting you know it has value if you ever want to do something with it. It reads like you have things figured out as well.

    Injector return hoses

I have had good success with the braided lines. I think all of my trucks now have them. No issues. I got mine from Badger Diesel.
