    new Deuce shifting problems

I've learned that you sometimes need to be going slower than the recomended road speed in order to downshift into fourth. Some transmissions have there own personality depending on the weight of the oil, previous use/abuse, and outside temperature.

    Yet another transmission replacement thread!

Yes just the transmission is being replaced, So there is no need for clutch alignment in this case? So the clutch and pressure plate stay where they are upon trans removal?

Ok so I found a good main shaft with all the gears, but I'm worried it will be difficult to remove the old one, with second/third fused to the shaft I wonder how much of a pain in the ass this will be. Could anyone refer me a removal/installation guide? I don't even know what TM to look in...

    One man winch operation?

The Vet said it was INTENDED to be used that way, not you COULD use it that way. :cookoo: I'm beginning to think he was talking about another type of winch. Whatever the case I hope I never find myself in a situation where I have to winch alone.

    One man winch operation?

Anyone ever thought of rigging up some kinda handle to operate the pedal clutch from the front bumper? Like an old deuce parking brake handle with a cable to the pedal? You could lock it in either position AND adjust the ammount of tension, just a thought.

    One man winch operation?

I recently had a discussion with my neighbor who is a Korean war vet, he worked on a 5 ton wrecker (what specifically I'm not sure). I was talking to him about needing two people to perform a safe and successful winching operation weather you are pulling stumps or pulling the truck. I was always...

Up here in New Hampshire the colors are dull but the cold is starting to set in. I love the smell of apple cider, burning woodstoves, pumpkin pie, and diesel exhaust! Planning on taking the Deuce on a road trip through some covered bridges. :driver:
