Mine are all over the place. I would GUESS the opening is opposite the stem. (I could look it up, but I'm not going to break mine down just to rotate the ring).
You aren't going to tow one with a pickup and dolly. I wouldn't go 800 miles unless I had a spare airpack, master, at least 2 wheel cylinders, hose set, and a gallon of DOT 5. Plus you will need tools, jack, jack stands, hub socket etc.....
The list will be long.
It's a 1" hole in the back of the air cleaner assy. There is a hose that attaches to it and goes to the air compressor in the fording kit. If you had a runaway and plugged the intake at the mushroom, it would still run (though slower) through this opening.
I thought his was origionally a cargo variant, but he couldn't find the bed? The more I look I may have been wrong. I know he was looking for a bed in the past. The ones in GA and FL are both missing the bed sides.
The 3 trucks I have seen runaway had sat for a long time. Every truck I own has the fording tube capped as soon as I get it. Keep the mushroom loose and you are done. Absolutely no need for an extinguisher. (though I do have one in the truck for a fire).
Well, between the first 2 posts it was still running and it was 12 minutes. I know if I had a runaway (had 2) I wouldn't be posting in between. Maybe you need to rethink owning a deuce?
They are currently broke down west of Chamberlin, SD. Truck is overheating. They removed the thermostat, It overheats within a mile. They are currently looking for a place to drop the truck. Looking either like a clogged radiator or waterpump.
