James,
The truck looks really nice, good job on the winch!, and the tires.
Ok, I have to ask now, how much do you have into the truck at this point? :-P
Ed
Well I pulled the transmission out today and found this, the seal appears in good shape when compared to my new in the box seal. And the grease I used to lube the seal when I replaced it the first time was still present. I think this dimple kept a gap open on the bottom allowing the oil to run...
Wow, you still haven't got that thing home? Is the motor trashed or just needs some TLC?
Good luck with U-ship, I've got a bad taste in my mouth from the last time. . .

Good deal!, make sure you check for a groove on the crank, TM seez more than .005, get a new crank. . . not an option for me, so I spent 80.00 ish for a speedi sleeve. It'll be here Monday.
I did the same thing you are doing, but I still have a leak. . .
But not after Monday!
Well, you either have a flat plate with 2 holes in it on the bottom of the plate and the seal pressed into the bellhousing, or you have a housing with 5 or 6 bolts in it that when removed will allow the housing and seal to come off as an assembly.
If you have any questions call me 575-382-9057
To get access to the area of the crank I'm talking about requires removal of the transmission, flywheel, and rear main seal/housing depending on which style rear main seal retainer you have.
Yeah, but I measured the crank in the 109A3 in the Shop, tranny was aleady out of it. I was hoping to get confirmation on my measurements before I ordered the sleeve, oh well, I rechecked it today and came up with the same numbers, so I ordered one. We'll see Monday if its the right size. :|
Looking at TM 9-2815-210-34-2-2, page 4-30 it says if there is a groove greater than .005, get a new crank, but they don't reference the diam of the flange. . .
Is it (the size) in a TM somewhere?
USAA will NOT insure a Deuce. I had mine insured through them, and when they found out that it weighed more than 10k empty they cancelled me. . .
Just an FYI, take it or leave it.
Yeah I packed it with grease before I installed it, but I think this problem is a groove in the crank from the old seal. . .
I couldn't really get a good look at the crank surface, just assumed I had a bad seal. . . wrong. . .
I've measured one motor (LDT-465) I have access to, the rear main flange where the rear main seal contacts the crankshaft. I came up with 4.998"/4.997" ish....
Does this sound right?
Was discussed here, but I thought I should stop jacking vtach's thread. . ...
Anyone have any info on the proper size and where to obtain said sleeve?, and the seal question?
I only want to pull this tranny ONE more time. . . ;-)
