24V to 12V For Emergency Equipment

Maybe you should consider on running dual alternators. The converter would be fine to run all of your equipment but its possible that your alternator will not charge your batteries back up enough. Especially if they are not gel cell batteries...

    Illinois - Rally?

Badlands is out for anything wider then (I believe) 80" and is very stricked on everything you do. There's no camping there and they give you a hard time about barbecuing. Haspin is $18 with camping included and really have no restrictions. If you guys want to start a MV club in northwestern...

    Check Your Tires

It might be a little costly but I run Slime in my tires for a little insurance and a peace of mind. I still check my tires on trips over 75 miles and I visually look at them for local runs. I haven't added air to them in 6 months, other then when I do some offroading. They still hold at 50psi.

    Jerry Can Strap

I went to menards and picked up some 1" load baring straps for $4. Threaded it up under the front slot and thru the back slot and just put it thru the slip lock. Both straps are on the top of the Jerry can. Its not sitting on the strap. So the weight can wear the strap to break. Been holding my...

    M1009 won't start

If times get really rough and you don't have a spare vehicle to get you around. You can always jump the 2 terminals on your starter silonoid to get it running. Providing the starter is good still.

    M1009 won't start

Try cracking the starter with a hammer. Sometimes they stick.

    M1009 won't start

Check all of the battery cables to make sure they are tight and clean. Follow them to make sure there isn't any cuts in them. Where corrosion decayed the cables in the center of them.

    Check Your Tires

Very true... That could've been very bad. I use a locking valve stem clamp with a 4' line to my pressure gauge

New M880 Old Wiring Problems-Assistance please

Or you can try to take apart your 3 lever switch and clean the internals. People use dielectric grease on their contacts but I found that using dollar store petroleum jelly works the same

New M880 Old Wiring Problems-Assistance please

Start by making sure the batteries are checked and full. Then move to the battery cables and so on. Corrosion is electricities worst nightmare.

    Checking in from NJ

Welcome to the steel soldiers. I myself am a brand new member. The best bet is to research as much as possible before you buy your first truck and try to make sure that everything you are looking for in a truck comes with it cause you will pay dearly later on for the upgrades. Most trucks are...

    Painting outdoors

You can brush and roll it on if you like. You just got to make sure you finish off your brush marks with a very light brush stroke. I would cut everything in with a brush as much as possible and then go back with the roller. The best would be to use is a 3/8x8" oil based roller to get into those...
