Would there be any interest in an all Stainless steel brake line kit for a deuce?

Buddy of mine did all ss braided flex line on each axle. Still has hard lines along the frame. They were NOT cheap. Several hundred total to just do 2 axles. That is why I'm more interested in just replacing the existing flex lines.

    Electric fan for Deuce

I have no idea about the heater kits. I do know my truck will get to 165°F at idle and after a good hard drive where I'm driving hammer down she only gets up to 180°F.

    Brakes Issue...Need Assistance Please

Does the pedal move at all? Because when I got my truck I had a good firm pedal but I couldn't move it very far. Turns out my air pak was frozen solid. If I had to guess that's gonna be your problem.

    Electric fan for Deuce

The part that a lot of people are missing in this whole discussion is diesel engines operate most efficiently in a given temperature range. Unlike gas engines diesels do not run better because they are cooler.

Would there be any interest in an all Stainless steel brake line kit for a deuce?

Since this topic has been brought up a bunch here recently I am tempted to talk to a company a few hours from me about getting hoses made for the deuce. I currently have a brand new front axle to frame hose and a pair of steering knuckle hoses I can bring in as examples. Anyone have a rear...

    Good master cyl. rebuild kit?

As the years progress it will become more and more difficult to avoid china made parts unfortunately.

Parts list for complete axle service.

You will need 6 drive flange gaskets if you don't want them to use rtv. You will need the 2 inner axle seals for the front. Then an inner and outer grease seal for each side of each axle. Get the silicone boots in whatever color you like.....I prefer black. They seem to hold up the best...

    Battery sizzle?

You sure you have a good connection to the battery? Sounds like something is arching. Edit.... now that I think about it a bit more you could possibly have a short also.

    Brake hose upgrades?

My deuce has 05' date codes on the front rubber lines and they already have some dry rot cracks forming. I have replacement ones on the shelf... but I have been really thinking of getting some SS ones made up.

I started widening my wheels today/tonight/this morning......

You aren't kidding on the price of the a3 wheels. I got stupid lucky when I found mine.

    My First Deuce. Brake issue.

When you release the brakes you should hear air releasing. When I bought my truck the air pak was locked up and it hissed continuously when I pushed the pedal. Installed a brand new air pak and I can lock up all six and leave one heck of a skid mark. Your symptoms sound like the seals around...

    My First Deuce. Brake issue.

If you have a soft pedal then air is being introduced into the brake fluid. If the previous owner included an air pak rebuild kit then as goldeneagle said that's a good place to start. While your at it pull the rubber boot back on the master cylinder and all 6 wheel cylinders. If there is...

    brake light switch upgrade

Actually now that you mention the a3 I'm not sure what type they have either. I'll have to look this weekend. My truck is an a2. I don't know if the army converted my truck or the previous civi owner did. He got the truck strait from DRMO. He also has passed away, hence why I own the truck...

    Hmm. Didn't know that.

    brake light switch upgrade

If you have the short air pack i would have thought it would already have the air switch. Mine is an air switch and it is mounted towards the front on the t block the air line plumbs into.

    Triangulated 4-Link on Air Bags

That's gonna be one awesome truck.

In need of some input (first post!)

You will enjoy the truck more because you are asking questions. Most people unfamiliar with the deuce have the fantasy that these trucks are unstoppable and never break down. Those are the people that end up severely disappointed. Truth be told they are as tough as they come when properly...
