Let me say this about the CAT 3116. I talked with the lead sales manager at Yancey Power in Atlanta Romey. I was told the 3116 was an excellent and reliable engine. It was just over engineered, that the cost to HP ratio was not working. Then CAT did not want to spend the additional money...
Jay,
Good to see another guy from Georgia, Before you buy anything take a breath, do your homework, and make sure you know what your getting into. I love my truck but when i first got there was an adjustment period. A duece is big, loud, and loves to eat money. But man it is so cool:D
Good Luck
I would treat like if you just got it from GL.
Change the oil, fuel filters, check the belts, top off the MC, and change the gear oil in the TC Trans and axles(opitional but i would check the color).
I agree that these truck sit up a year before them go up for auction.
Post some photo's...
I did not know that or missed in the TM's. Could you be mote specific. Does this require draining the trans? You the inspection plate is on the bottom?
Glad I read your post, going to do this tomorrow.
So you tried the slave on the door. What about going to the batteries directly? I would suggest going back and replacing the batteries, cleaning the terminals, and do a check for lose wires.
If that fails them bring a large strap to pull start.
The idea of recovering a deuce sounds good but...
Cj454,
I scanned the posts all jokes aside.
The idea of pulling a trailer with a stock deuce is not possible. Hitch is to high fact.
Loading a car in the back of a deuce is dangerous. Ask your self what could go wrong.
Save for self so time, hassle, and money. Have it hauled.
Good luck
Glad to see another deuce in Georgia. Means I am not the only crazy one driving around. Truck looks good.
Only had mine 5 months now and every thing I have had to fix was actually not that hard. Parts just weight alot.
