I would suggest a 5 ton for this purpose. A deuce is rated for 10k towing. I have towed between 15-18k with mine (not sure what my dozer weighs) and I would not suggest it. There is a severe lack of power, and about the same on braking.

I would start by having that alternator tested again. Sounds like maybe they didnt rebuild it right.

Keep in mind... that if you paint it solid, its real easy for the buyer to camo it if they prefer.....

Same thing. The only set that has a usable selector position is the 10kw.

As I have said before, another major thing with the 'power' of the 1009's is the rear end gears. Ditch the 3.08 gears, and toss in at least 3.42, or 3.73 gears. You will be alot happier!!

I would suspect 159k.... therefore you for sure want to have the IP rebuilt.

Are you sure its 59k and not 159k? When did the Army sell it? got a copy of your carfax report?

I NEVER let anyone hook up a trailer for me. I ALWAYS do it myself, for this very reason.
