    Terminus M1009

Hey. That's NOT nice. Back in the mid 90's I scrapped every radio rack, antenna bracket that came on the CUCV's. I was building snow plow trucks and I never needed any of them parts. Here is one I was keeping for an M1009 I have stored in my barn. But I already welded all the holes shut in the...

Who is missing a CUCV fuel cap?

I am assuming it is an M1008 you need a filler neck and cap for. I have it either way. I replied to your PM.

Request photos of an M1008 parking brake assembly

I was under the impression that LMC does NOT sell parts for C or K 30 series trucks. I would go to a parts store and get the correct parts. Why chance it with a guess if the K20 parts are the same. They may be the same. But buying the correct parts the first time is best. A 131.5 " WB K30 with...

    Terminus M1009

Are you saying my projects look that bad? Scrap? Thanks. That's OK. I get it. I have stock CUCV's. Not many want them here. But I know lots of people outside of here. Basically I know about 5 people here. My scrap is worth as much or more then some vehicles I seen. Scrap is low now. Remember I...

    Easter find M1008 2015

I will save myself the anguish. And what does first refusal even mean? Like I ask a question if someone wants to buy it and get in trouble? No Thanks. I tread lightly here and still get in trouble so not going to happen. And that's about all I am going to say about that. It may be going to a...

    New guy, "new" 1985 M1009

Nothing special about a steering box on a CUCV. They are the same as the civilian K10-30 trucks,K5 and Suburban's. All the same ingredients. Nothing special.

    New guy, "new" 1985 M1009

I don't have the exchange manual at my fingertips. But many steering boxes will fit as long as they are 4 X 4 from the same time period. I have had luck getting rebuilt steering boxes from Autozone and NAPA. I think less then $200. exchange and you can have a warranted for life rebuilt steering...

    Terminus M1009

Cool picture I seen on the internet. Wanted to share. Who left the CUCV's on the plane? Operation Desert Storm 1991.

    "Popping" noise in front end

The frozen U joints Snap, crackle, pop when you are steering because they are loading up the power steering system and then letting go all at once. I seen the cross truck tie rod bend like a bow and then release when the U joint unlocked. I have driven a few M1009's that I had trouble parking...

    Terminus M1009

I used the good ole reliable Terminus M1009 to pull a few tree roots and stumps that are left over from the storm last week. I am off work for a week and using the time to get a bit of winter prep time done. I cleaned the chimney, replaced the stove pipes and cleaned up the scrap pile. I sat out...

    "Popping" noise in front end

My prediction is outer axle U joints. They can cause a lot of issues in the steering. I would pull the axles and see if the popping goes way. When you replace them use grease able U joints. Or use good Spicer U joints that are permanently greased. Report back.

    Easter find M1008 2015

It may be going to a world wide auction site. I have a bigger project in mind. Bigger $$$$ is involved. But I want to tread lightly.

I agree. It is time to replace the cables. It is a doable job. It is an interesting job if you are inexperienced. Cut the cable under the dash and with a straight screw driver break the 3 sprag ears off the cable lock where it goes into the engagement mechanism under the dash. I use a good...

    New Manufactured Power Steering Brackets

Last time I try to do something nice for people on the internet. Hope your bracket lasts a lifetime. Sir on a nice note I appreciate the thought. But yes just walk away. You are in a losing battle. If you did have them made they could be perfect and still have a failure. When I was younger I...

    CUCV 6.2 K5 Trailer wiring?

Most LED's can handle variable voltage. I just bought an LED strobe from truck lite that handles 12 -120 volt. The one I remove with a low door way was 12-80 volt. So truck lite must be improving the lights.

    New Manufactured Power Steering Brackets

Fixing a repairing is not modifying. It is fixing and repairing. I could weld up a bracket that would eliminate the OEM bracket completely. I have NOT had to build a complete bracket. And yes it lasted 30 years same as the entire CUCV system now that you want to talk time and reliability. I have...

    New Manufactured Power Steering Brackets

I actually do weld them back together and make them stronger. But I only do it because I like fixing things that pothers toss to the side. I find more of a challenge making bad discarded things useful then I do buying new things. I am putting a set of paint cabinets together out of 2 large...

    New Manufactured Power Steering Brackets

I have Chinese parts on every new Chevrolet truck I bought since the mid 90's. Made in China, Mexico and Australia. It matters not to me. I agree if the shoe fits wear it. Many good shoes are made in China. My Son joined the Marines in 2006 when he came home from Parris Island he had bags and...

    Easter find M1008 2015

I'M Back. Thank you Patracy for the help. It is much appreciated. I was trying hard to get back on because I have a few people that I was dealing with on parts. Thank you again Patracy. It was Not my intention to scale the rules and start trouble. I was just trying to reach out and get my...
