Don't know the difference with XM and M. mine are XM's . the light question, i use a wrecker light set. never have tried powering the towed unit electrical thru the light plug.would take a pretty long intervehical cord. it seems like they would of had a connector on the front like they do for...
Re: RE: Re: RE: DT 466 International motor ?
big plus i agree. also fairly cheap for parts and parts are availible most every where. good fuel economy.
My XM818 W/W gets around 8 mpg bobtail if driven nicely. We got over 6 mpg flat towing another 5 ton tractor. and while flat towing those other tractors i was not real nice to it as far as fuel usage went. mine is turned up a little and will go thru a bunch of fuel in a hurry if not carefull.
what limits the rpm's ? this gov that i posted the pic of? cause with air turned on to this cyl on the pump, the rpm's will max out at about 1700. on the 543 that i had there was a larger air cyl down under the cab that worked the throtle.
more gear choices will defianitly be better although the 8 and 10's with over drive are a little tough to find. why not use a 13? then you could do the flip and get double over? of course the t case will need to be moved back a little.

well my set up on the 819 works to limit the rpm not increase it. before i turned the air to the cyl off it limited the rpms to about 1700. with the air turned off it runs like any other 250. maybe this is how they limited the top speed of the truck. when it (the gov) is working the trucks top...
