I can't find in my searches where this is done. What has to be done to make this work? Would widened deuce wheels work? Lift the truck enough for suspension travel? Will it not turn? Are the axles not strong enough? This must have been asked before, I just can't find the answers.
Thanks,
Greg
My truck was idling rough, the throttle response was real sluggish with very slow acceleration over 25 mph. The CDR valve made a world of difference, idle is smooth, acceleration is so much better. I can tell fuel economy will be alot better since my foot isn't in it nearly as deep to...
I've been thinking I would like to get a shelter for my M1028, but I've seen so many styles of the S250G, I'm wondering if one make or style is better than another for the CUCV.
Thanks
Thanks Mark mine arrived very fast. I'm looking forward to trying one out on my rough idling M1009. I'll post the results if it cures it.
Thanks again,
Greg
Go with your preference, but I like the one thats on there, are we talking M1009?. The truck turns quick enough for me as it is. Do you use it much offroad?
My coolant bottle was empty and the radiator was low when I got my truck. I pulled out the bottle to wash out all the mouse turds and saw the bottom of the bottle was chewed through so the little bugger could get a drink. His little dried up body was down there too. lol
Can you turn up the fuel? Do you have a pyrometer on it? Can you adjust the boost with the Banks turbo? Did they make different sized turbos? I think they might have. I wouldn't want to be traveling the interstate under 55mph very much of the time. Maybe sombody here knows how to max the 6.2...
I have had a few minor problems. My faxes have been lost. There seems to be some bickering between depts cause CS will tell you one thing and the EUC dept will tell you not to listen to them. Whoever answers the phone I do what they say and hope for the best. There was a woman I talked to that...
I went out and looked and its the 3 speed auto, but the glove box says auto locking hubs and it has Warn hubs on it and the spindle is different, shorter I think but I didn't measure. Also has the trailer tow package whatever that means and a 40 gal tank.
Greg
Thanks for the replys. I have a set of axles from a 85 3/4 ton suburban that has 3.73 gears. The glove box says posi for the rear, its a 14 bolt. Is this the gov-lock that is so unpopular? There is no mension of the front axle so I'm guessing its a 10 bolt, but it is an 8 lug. I have access to a...
I'm not looking to tow or haul, but with the idea of a lift and 37" tires. It would probably need crossover steering added. I want to make this a better off road vehicle, but do you have to give up freeway traveling? If I go smaller than 36 or 37 to keep low range low enough, then what...
Thanks Dale, I bought the only camo M1009. The camo hides everything pretty well ...in pictures especially. I looked and the only pickup I bid on was the one with the wood cap. Someone out bid me on it with a couple of minutes left. Since I got the M1009 I'm kinda glad they did. I'm just a bit...
I bid on a few too. and won a M1009. I don't think I bid on yours, and I didn't bid at the last minute. I didn't preview these so I'm in the dark at what I got. I'm afraid it's rusty. I sure hope not.
Greg
Riv,
Your not going to stir anything up. Its to each his own. Some like the military look and feel, some like their civvy SUV's with 20" chrome wheels with no-sidewall tires, others like there civvy SUV's transplanted on a radical suspension. Most of us here want a good strong 4x without...
I'm also experiencing a similar whurring noise in the front of my 6.2. Maybe we have a similar problem. My hearing is not the best. The belts and pulleys look to run smooth when idling and its worse when its cold also but it doesn't go away when warm. I'm interested in what you find out. The...
I bought a m1009 from a state university. It was sitting 4 years at their dairy near their sileage pits. Mice had nests everywhere at least 8 in the engine compartment alone. You couldn't open the doors or hood without a cloud of wasps. The right up on it was its a piece of junk scrap value...
