Years ago, that was a desirable truck (I am referring to a really long time ago...way before I came into the hobby). Richard Green used to tell me that, when he first came into the hobby in the 70s, you had to take 3-4 M35A2s to make one and they came out in worse shape. Most guys on this list...
I am not sure what they eventually do with them, but I have seen some items come back up. There was a rough M105A2 at Meade that came up at least twice in the last year.
If he had posted the quote that you specified...the "I saw this and thought someone might be interested"...he would have been violating the site's rules. I would bet that someone would have said something to him and he probably would have had to delete the direct reference or the link or...
How was it too harsh to tell him that specifying that the truck was on GL was superfluous to his question? I couldn’t care who will be bidding on the A3s. I sure won't be. I am up to the gunnels in trucks. I was simply pointing out that there was no need to include a reference to an auction...
If you can locate a $3K M35A3 for me that is worth anything, please PM me. I will buy a few at that price if they are in running condition and I have friends (many of whom are on this list) who would want one or two also. I saw a few go in the $4,500-5,250 range a while ago, but most will...
Adding "GL" to your post did nothing to help you get a response. However, it did tell people that there are M35A3s w/w on GL (and probably right now). If what you wanted to do was to notify people to increase your competition (or the competition that someone else will have), you may have done...
Why specify that you were looking on GL? Why not just ask the question? Now, anyone who did not know that there was a winch A3 on GL is looking for it. Trust me...I have found plenty of trucks because guys on here posted about them. Just because the info is on the GL site DOES NOT mean that...
Actually, only the M939A2 series had the 6CTA 8.3 Cummins. Both the M939 and M939A1 had the NHC250 Cummins.
I respect what MUDGUPPY is saying especially since I own three 6CTA-powered M939A2 series trucks and I love them (although the one on ebay is an M923A1). However, the 5 tonners are...
I understand that the govt pays $8K. But, the govt pays crazy money for all of the trucks/trailers we buy and yet the prices we pay are much lower fractions than this trailer brought. I also understand the rarity. I suspose IF YOU HAD TO HAVE THE TRAILER, $3450 is not too bad...vs. paying $7-8K...
I just re-read the entire thread and I don't think it has been taken over or hijacked as you put it. The original poster talked of bobbing an A3. All subsequent posts dealt with either bobbing an A3 or bobbing a truck in general. That seems on topic.
SASQUATCHSANTA: Value is whatever it is to both the seller AND the buyer. To me, as a buyer, I feel that a bobbed truck is less valuable because I don't want one. This should not be construed as saying that I think that YOU or anyone else should not do as you wish. Enjoy and be merry. I just...
