    M109/M185 Shop Box Window Replacement...

I think he is looking for an alternate installation to replace the original windows, not replacement originals.. Cheers

I think I might have a 30/50 turret set up on my V, thoughts

Mine is a 30/50 turret. Here is a picture of it in a pretty bare state. The forward mount on the left is for a .30, it needs to be slightly longer on the forward edge to take an M2. I had to make one. The rear receiver pins go through the round yokes hanging down on the lower right in the...

V100 driver area for comparison. Cheers

    Our Dragoon

You are correct. The V drivers seat is mounted on a manually operated scissors arrangement and has several height adjustments. You can also slap the handle, which will drop the seat to the bottom setting, if folks start sending unwanted objects your way while you have your head out. One must...

thinking I have a bad master cylinder now.....

The vacuum booster was a source of headaches for me. Mine, which was new at the start of the restoration, gave up rather quickly, but caused odd symptoms. Just replaced it again, works good now. Your V should be able to easily lock up the tires when its all working properly. Watch for even...

A happy day in Ferret land with my MK2/3

Nice! Ferrets are just plain cool. Keep us updated as you progress. May I suggest that you attach the actual pictures to your post rather than links? The links tend to disappear after a while, and we have lots of good older posts with nothing but dead links attached, so a lot of good...

    Our Dragoon

My youngsters positively scamper around inside the V100, but they are all in the 19-24 range. For me, the worst chore on each day I operate it, is to go in the side door, squeeze past the turret, and try to drag myself into the front seat so I can open the overhead hatch. From then on, all my...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Now THAT I want to see! :) Mark, he was talking about making teeny data plates for your model. Cheers

    Here is the girl. :-)

Haven't tried the dealership angle, but the V side door is just the right height to conduct business at the Dairy Queen drive-through. I promised my kids they could do it, having previously taken them to Sonic in a buddy's M8 Greyhound. One of the highest compliments my daughter ever gave me...

    Early M1010 / Late M886 crossbreed

Very nice! The Air Force and Navy used a lot of direct-buy field ambulances over the years. I passed on this Navy Jeep a while back, been kicking myself ever since. Specifics unknown. Cheers

differences in frames between CJ2A, CJ3A, M38 and even Willys MB?

One of the guys in our club built a replica MB by putting a tub on a 1948 CJ-2A. He said he did it all with bolts. Looks great to me, but I'm one of those folks who call them all jeeps. He isn't on here, but I can put you two in touch with each other. He is a super nice guy, and won't mind...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2015 - March VOTE HERE

Again, no hogs in this show, but a choice has to be made. Having followed Cranetruck's progress with his XM757 over the years, and knowing how hard it is to find (or have to make) parts for such a rare vehicle, my vote had to go to him. Besides 8x8s are just plain cool! Cheers

    Question about French 404s

That was one that looked and drove as if they had pulled the driver out, and stuffed it straight into a container, after throwing a folder with all the maintenance books on the seat. When it came out of the container, we put in fresh fuel (drained for shipment) and fluids, started it (the...

    Question about French 404s

There were a surprising number of leather fittings on my Swiss Mog. The folding troop seats hang on the bed sides, and each bracket has a nicely fitted heavy leather sleeve that keeps it from rattling/squeaking, or scratching the paint! I lucked out and got my truck just as the glut peaked...

    Question about French 404s

Additionally - the Swiss front bumper does not have cutouts for blackout lights, they used a single large B/O light mounted on a plate bolted to the inside top of the drivers side of the bumper. Swiss front turn/marker light lenses are straight white, rather than the white/amber combo...

    soft straight line camo

If you had described what you were going to do, I would likely have raised an eyebrow at you and given you the buffalo look, but seeing it, it actually looks pretty darn cool! Don't forget to post a picture once the masking is off. ;) The variation suggested earlier, with the brown and black...

Silly me...I thought I would remove the lug nuts with a breaker bar and cheater pipe.

And, of course, remember the left hand thread/right hand thread lugs. I've seen tire folks battle mightily trying to remove a "frozen" lug nut that they were busily tightening on the "righty-loosy" side of the truck. ;) Cheers

Holden MTO20 Engineering Equipment Trailer (EET) 10 ton pintle trailer

I keep picturing in my mind how pretty that trailer would look behind my M813, with the V100 on it. Sigh.... Looking forward to progress reports. Cheers
