What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Ummmm, every bolt that I've had to take a wrench to so far on my 85 M1008 in the engine bay has been metric....

    35in Tires on M1008

I know the front springs should have a slight negative arch when they're good, but these are definitely drooping further than usual. It's difficult to see it in the pic.

    35in Tires on M1008

This is how it sits with 33's and sagging springs.... plenty of room. It's at the spring shop getting new springs front and rear which should raise it about 2in.

Extended Brake Lines for 2in Lift??

Didn't realize this thread was still going... lol Completely off subject, how's your Skyjacker lift ride? Stiff or pliable?

Extended Brake Lines for 2in Lift??

Since the M1008 is going to need new springs, I'm considering a 2in lift to go with the 35in KM2's on 16x8(4in backspacing). Will I need extended brake lines?

    Newb.... with M1008

Turns out it did have a few broken leaves on top of a broken center bolt. Yeah it's getting new springs front and rear. Ouch, my wallet... lol

No it's not broken on the bottom..... however, it appears as if the spring is slightly bent by the rear shackle.

I guess I better fix this before putting 35's on the truck.... lol. Broken leaf spring center bolt..

1" zero rates and 32x12.50s... Any rubbing?

I ran 33x10.5x15 KM2'S on my K10 Stepside with sagging springs and never had any rubbing issues..... not even in the rough stuff off road.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Everything was replaced except for the drums.... a run to the machine shop and they were good to go.

I thought that was lube for the brakes... lol. Yeah it got new axle seals and wheel cylinders as well... just a lil messy back in there!

    Time starter relay for anti-theft...?

Crime is everywhere, even out in the sticks... My insurance company wouldn't put comprehensive to cover theft, fire and vandalism on any of my square body Chevy trucks.

Took the bent black tail gate off and put on the spare white tail gate that's straight and closes correctly...

    35in Tires on M1008

Cool.... thx. Right now the truck has Nitto Terra Grappler 285 75 16's mounted on the factory 16x6.5 wheels. There's plenty of room to spare with no chance of rubbing the fenders.

    35in Tires on M1008

I'm sure this has been covered many times here...... I'm wanting to run 35's on my M1008. Since the truck already sits higher than my K10 and K20 from the factory, can I get away with a 1in add a leaf(easy inch) and a lil minor fender trimming with a 16x8 wheel 4in offset and still have enough...

    47,000 miles?

The amount of rust is also determined by the climate of where the truck has been.....

    Newb.... with M1008

Actually I don't at the moment.... everything looked normal. Twin batteries on the passenger side and dual alternators Leaving the paint as is, but putting the CUCV grill back in it. It's pretty much going to be a "farm" truck with winches on both ends attached to welded steel bumpers. Probably...

Yes it does at first glance...

I'm also going to grab the welded steel bumpers with the winches on them... they'll come in handy on our family land in west ga.
