Look under the truck and see if there are two airpacks. If there are two it's almost certain it's a very late model truck. All of the late model trucks were USAF trucks also.
I'm not going to judge you because of past experiences but I've had a lot of trouble with Brokers.
Some of the problems I've had are-
1) They take the load for a cheap price before they have a truck lined up and then have trouble finding somebody to haul it that cheap.
2) They make promises...
I've seen different outputs on the t-case PTOs. Flange, yoke, and sprocket.
Mine has a flange and what I did is make a adapter. I measured the bolt pattern (don't recall the measurements), drilled out a mating flange, and welded it to a u-joint I picked up at NAPA.
I'm not sure why you're...
The two missing numbers should be "40" for a A2C dropside. If the first two numbers are in fact "10" it would be one of the last M35A2Cs made, more than likely a 1987, 1988 model. It should also have dual circuit brakes.
I'm just down the road from you in Dickson. While I have tinkered with a CUCV before, I wouldn't call myself a expert on CUCV electrical systems.
I'm betting your glow plugs still aren't working. Either you don't have power to the glow plugs or you have enough of them burnt out that it won't...
There have been reports of people running some motor oil mixed with the diesel in a 250 Cummins. I don't know what the max ratio is but I wouldn't want to add too much. If you decide to mix some of it just make sure you filter the oil really well and make sure there is no water in it.
silverstate, you make some good points. Just because you aren't required to follow some commercial regs doesn't mean you shouldn't. Hobby vehicles are just as dangerous as commercial vehicles. Hobby vehicles may even be more dangerous because people are driving them without the training and...
I've owned both and the M923 is a more comfortable ride, I like the air brakes better, and like the air shift t-case. I don't like the high/low on the transfer case (they can be a pain to shift).
I also think the M813 has more usable power due to the trans. While I haven't run both side by...
Used to be around here that you could call the electric company and tell them you needed to cut power and they would tell you to go ahead and cut the seal, remove the meter, and put the meter back when you're done (they'd replace the seal at the next meter reading). I've got a pole and have even...
5-ton springs won't bolt up. They are a lot more than just a extra leaf, they are massively bigger.
If you have both sides I'd just go ahead and bolt up the other side and call it a day.
I'm heading out to Gainsville,FL tomorrow for work. I'll be coming back Wed. or Thurs. I know it's too short of notice to carry something down but I can bring stuff back to TN if needed. I'll have about 10,000lbs to spare on the tractor trailer but not much floor space. I'll be pretty tied up...
You could go with a electric pump. I'm usually not a big fan but with such a low gpm requirement, it may fill your needs fine and be the cheapest route. I'm not sure about duty cycles on the electric pumps though.
I usually run my dump (t-case PTO driven) in 3rd gear. I've never checked the RPM but it just seems about right. Any faster the pump makes a lot more noise and any slower the dump moves too slow for my taste.
I guess it would help to know what RPM the knuckle boom pump was rated for.
I don't know, I've been using the factory winch pump to run a lime spreader bed on a M939 truck going on 2 years now. The pump seems to be holding up fine. It is a Vickers vane pump and also used in all kinds of commercial hyd applications. Where did you get the info that they won't hold up?
It...
