The issue with the indicator lamp is the polarity is backwards to most lights, the bayonet (body) is positive and the pin contact is negative, makes no difference to an incandescent lamp but will not work with 99% of the LED lamps out there.
You need to check, each tie rod assembly has a right and left threaded tire rod end, one side should be right and the other left BUT the tie rods can be installed ether way so.................
Again all gear pumps make noise, that is why you will not find one from "an old GMC truck",, 99% of civy vehicles use a vane type pump because they are much quieter.
I'm sure you could fit a vane style pump from an earlier HMMWV with the built in reservoir but why? gear pumps are more dependable...

Well the first thing is to get the codes, if you jump the pins and get no codes that is a big problem, even with "no codes" you should see a repeated 12 code.
with the truck not running anything but park will allow the truck to roll, so that means nothing.

It could of course be a tire, ether way it should be easy to tell by looking at the tire/rim while spinning on the balancer.

All the trucks with the remote reservoir have gear type pumps, all gear type pumps make noise, that is why you don't see them on civy vehicles, think log splitter, skid loader or trackhoe. all of them have pump noise, changing the fluid will not change that.
