    C.A.R.C. Cost and Supply:

CARC used to be much cheaper...and I mean like a year or so ago! The prices have gone up and, if you have it and are a civilian, people are figuring a nice profit. That paint costs in the $79/gallon range (the price varies by color). I know...I just bought 40 gallons and 20 gallons of catalyst...

    Price for a 814

As Jay and Jeff both stated, I do have a nice M814 for sale. Josh, I sent you a PM about it. The truck is ready to drive home!

where do i get 5 ton transfer case parts?

Call John Winslow...252-883-2509. He has spare transfer cases and sprags, too, if that is your problem. He can either do the work for you, or send the t-case to you.

    814 comes home

Jeff, glad you liked the truck. The deal was great from my end as you were a pleasure to deal with! I am happy to say that I've made another friend. I hated to see the truck leave, but I needed the money for my HEMTT and M936A2 projects. I can't wait to see pics of the truck with the NOS 3...

    Water Buffalo M149A2 conversion

If the water buffalo is nice, I suggest buying an M200 and a 600 gallon fuel pod. Heck, buy two fuel pods and a reel assembly and turn a 5 ton into a true fuel truck. M149A2s that are in nice shape are very valuable and are fairly rare. I have seen nice water trailers bring upwards of $1500...

    m105a2 cover

I agree with Mark...go to GMA. You are getting ready to pay more for the cargo cover than the trailer, though!

    Trailer towing M35a2?

My reco...buy a 5 ton tractor. They are dirt cheap, have a more powerful motor, bigger brakes, AND power steering among other benefits. The only issue is, in some states, using them in the way you want may require you to have a CDL.

    Is this a heater???

It is definitely not an A3 heater as the A3 heater looks almost identical to the A2 heater except it is in the cab under the dash...and has a slightly higher output.

    Wanted Cargo top hooks

TNJ Murray has them for sale on their site and they are brand new.

    Engine oil type

Thanks, CLINTO. I agree with Kenny. While some people swear by a certain brand, it really makes almost no difference for the amount MOST of us use our trucks. My only recommendation would be to use a good name brand...Shell Rotella, Mobil Delvac, Valvoline, Quaker State, etc. Most studies seem...

Where to buy end curtain rope?

Before you start buying rope, make sure you consider the option of purchasing another end curtain with the ropes. I have purchased end curtains that were used, but were fresh, for $15 at Aberdeen. I am not sure what the rope will run you, but you might be able to get another end curtain for...

    Maryland Military Vehicle Campout

You may want to rethink your timing because there is a fairly big rally planned for Rausch Creek in PA in October. A campout would be cool, though!

    M49A2C Question/advise?

Even the water trucks I have seen have the rear compartment with doors. I don't recognize the body.

    M49A2C Question/advise?

I had a 1987 M49A2C and it looked nothing like your truck. I do not recognize the body. I have never seen an M44 series fuel truck that did not have the doors on the rear pump compartment. That could be a civilian body, it could be a body off of an older military truck, or it might be correct...

    G/L bait and switch

Can you attach the pics from the auction listing? I would love to what the trailers looked like. An M105A3 is very distinctive. Sorry to hear about your problems.

    5-ton XL WB blues

HARDTIME: Contact me via PM. I have two very nice M814s. One of my trucks is cherry...a complete overhaul with fewer than 100 miles on it (everything is new or rebuilt). The other is a really nice and solid truck with about 13K miles on it. The latter truck has troop seats on it. The...

    m52A2 HWY

Thanks, Robb! That information would have changed my suggestion. Since it mainly will be a pleasure vehicle, I suggest increasing the tire size to 1400s. Try them out BEFORE you swap in an overdrive transmission as the larger tires may give you enough road speed. If you want more, go with...

    m52A2 HWY

Perhaps, I missed this in an earlier thread. What will you be doing with the M52A2? Is it strictly for pleasure driving or will you haul a trailer? Highway or local driving?

    m52A2 HWY

I once owned an M543A2 wrecker with the non-overdrive transmission that you have. Max road speed was 47 MPH and I believe that was at 2,500 RPM. Larger tires will help with the top speed, but you will lose power. Switching to the overdrive transmission should allow you to drive at 53 MPH or...

    Huge thanks to scooter01922

Scooter is a great guy. He is one of the people I look forward to seeing each year at Aberdeen.
