Awsome. Ive been toying with the same idea since I bobbed my deuce now I have the front tongue from the trailer, the bed and tandems from the deuce. I just need one rear axle and some frame rails. I know where to get both of those pretty easily.
I really, really, really wish GL would move all sold lots to a locked "Sold" yard. It is not right for them or DRMO to move and use a truck once payment has been made.
You got any photos from the sale that you could use for comparison? I hope you filed a claim.
BTW Does the GL yard there share the yard with DRMO? Here at Ft Riley both GL and DRMO move stuff around all the time. When I go out to preview trailers I look at the week before will be moved...
Hmmm this thread has been looked at 671 time and only 104 people voted in the poll? Guess that means the 104 of us that voted have come back to check at least 6 time each.
73m819, your post is confusing. Does that thruck there in the pics have no front drive axle or do the tugs (stock from the military) have no front axle. You say different gearing in the front and rear.
I know that stock from the military the have very short wheelbase and really low gearing in...
Nice trailer. I still find it hard to believe they are surplusing these out already when you know there are units out there still pulling around M101's
Did you do the rears one axle at a time or did you raise both sets off the ground on the same side? If you did one axle you wont be able to spin them because the two are connected by the drive shaft inbtween them. Normally in a 4x4 if you lift the rear with the trans in neutral and one tire on...
Yeah but its still cool to know you have something from 50 years ago that still getting the job done. (even if its only the frame thats original to the truck)
I ask because I bolted mine on using all the rivet holes left over from removing the bogey set up and I'm debating wether or not to go thru the trouble of adding flitch plates as well.
