That second one is exactly the pic I was looking for! Thanks. Could you PM me on how you posted those. The way I had been posting pics isn't working anymore. Grrrr.
One of my buddies on M715Zone.com bought a set of wheels from him supposedly with a 2 week lead. It went on and on with the guy calling every couple of weeks. He called one day and our boy at :banghead: 6x6 told him they were done but were stolen. My buddy asked him for the local police depts...
My big 715, aka 'Velvet,' arrived stock with a blown motor. I slapped in a 3053A and a 305 small block Chevy so I wouldn't have to drag it around with the tractor anymore. It got the channel bumper and deuce-Garwood 10K winch stuffed in it (set up on a hydraulic motor), then lockers for the...
How close are you to your exhaust pipe at the back of the fender? If you clear with those wheels, I should clear with the ones I get on and my same size XL's as I'll have about 2" more backspacing which will reduce the amount of swing as the tire turns.
LOOKING GOOD MAN!!! I do like how...
It took like 11 weeks to get the two pans that I ordered. When I ordered I asked specifically when I'd get the pans and was told that one was in stock and they'd be making another several of them early the following week. I had a three month window to get my axles torn down, new pans, hubs...
Deuce or die, go to http://www.imageshack.us/. It's a free hosting service for photos. Click the browse then find the pic on you computer. Once you okay or host...or whatever it has there it will give you like six different links to use. Copy the first link listed then paste it into you text...
I was going to modify the stock pans by measuring how deep the gear is from the mounting surface on the chunk, then mark the pan giving it like 1/8" clearance, then cutting it off flat and welding a hunk of 1/4" or 3/8" plate across it. Hell, that would work and give me more gear oil capacity...
in ground clearance. Made from 3/8 Plate Steel. They have been welded on both sides and are Guaranteed for accuracy and Weld Quality Delivered anywhere in the US 48 states" USA6bi's website.
So this is a front Rockwell axle torn down and pan cut off and a High Clear pan installed. Check...
When I got my blue deuce I was driving it home and it started to hesitate now and then until it just died. The guy had some crappy batteries in it that he had been charging when I pulled in. My alternator was fried too. I hooked another set of batteries up and a new one wire 24V alternator...
Heh,heh...nope, I don't sleep well. Surprising the clearity of thought at 2am as the hot water rushes though the plumbing and thousandth sheep jumps over the fence.
Recovery, she wanted something to be able to get some mpg out of. I figure a cucv 6.2 mated to NV4500 with it's big overdrive might even work with the stock 5.87's the M715's come factory with. I've got a set of 1100x 16 XL's that I had grooved each tread block and she actually wants to run...
30psi doesn't sound like much pressure for a valve until you consider all aspects. Lets say the valve is 2.00" diameter with a 3/8" stem. The equasion for figuring out the area of a circle is Pi x radius squared. for the 2.00" valve would be 3.14x 1x 1= 3.14sq" The stem has .11sq" area...
Hey Recovery, I got stuck today. JOY. Grrr, crappy full slick center tires! I thought I'd be able to get some wood from down this one ravine where I couldn't get out with them with the tractor one day. I got them all loaded up and tried to go in the way I came. I made it about 10' then spun...
Those are factory single style wheels found on trucks like the M34 6 wheeled truck and the older GMC 2-1/2 ton trucks. They have about a 2"-3" difference in the offset from the 10 wheel dually trucks. The single cannot be used for dual applications, the offset doesn't allow it. Usually the...
You know Ken, that's probably a better idea for him...no seriously. MM, take that truck and the tools to Walmart parking lot and do it there. If questioned, you can claim that something broke and bound up making it not able to be towed OR dragged onto a rollback so you have to suck it up and...
I think it would put them just about the right placement with the 1" spacing. 14x20's are too tall. I have a set of 395/85-20 XL's that are 15.5x45.5. They'll fit without the mods needed for 1400 that are about 3" taller. I often throw around ideas in my empty head and would think that a...
Ken, each of the three axles did have sealing issues and were pretty gunky in spots. I sold that, rusted frame, cab, and two axles, to a buddy of mine. I'll stop over and snap a couple pics. Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I found it had no vents too! I remembered early on, I swapped a...
An exhaust brake is a great idea on diesel engines. A gas engine has vacuum when you lift off the pedal as the butterflies in the carburetor close that creates a vacuum above the pistons and that vacuum slows the speed of the engine as it wants to hold the pistons up in the bores and not let...
