You are better off rhino lining the enter cabin. The rubber mats trap water between the mat and the floor and eventually will rust the floor out. Often times, the NG has already disposed of the rubber mats for this reason. My experience is that most times, trucks with rubber mats have floor...
Changing from 900 X 20s to 1100s will allow you to run at 57 MPH at the same RPM you would be turning at 50 MPH with the 900s (this has not been mathematically derived...figured it out from a chase car clocking me).
I am with CUCVFAN. I know I said initially I could make it, but I may have to bail. Neil and I are getting a 5 tonner delivered that morning and my timeline on getting my M151A2 ready for Aberdeen just got pushed up so he and I are hitting that truck after the 5 ton arrives. I will make it if...
I realize the differences between an M1008 and an M1008A1 (different transfer cases among other things). Why is the price almost double? Also, why would an M1028 be cheaper than an M1008?
Yes, there were mid-80's trucks w/w. They are rare...but I've seen a couple. I am not sure how many were built. Maybe, David Doyle will chime in.
One thing I want to point out...it may be obvious to some but not all... I have a 1983 M35A2C. It is not a mid-80s deuce as we refer to them...

Be careful that your face is not near the wheel when you jack the front end up. Someone on here described a situation where the sprag was under tension and forced the front wheel to spin. Unfortunately for him, his face was against the tire when it did spin...leaving raspberries on the side of...
The sprag can get bound up if you roll backward in a forward gear or forward in reverse. I am sure one our engineer types will chime in with a more technical description of this process. I've never actually torn into a t-case to examine how it works.
They are very easy to drive. My wife has driven a truck over 10 hours by herself! I would assume they could be driven out with some servicing and inspection. The batteries might be dead by now...no telling how long the truck has been sitting there. It could have been a couple of months or...
Another option would be to find the back-up light set up off of an M35A3. I tell ya, that truck has some really cool features that most guys may not know about and for which they probably don't appreciate the truck appropriately. My $.02...
