The manual for the V100, TM 9-2320-245-24, is often available on Ebay and other places on the net; useful but not particularly good compared to other military manuals. There is also a -24P parts manual that is quite useful.
The engine is an M75, which is just a militarized 361 Chrysler...
She is a beauty!
Hopefully we will see her at an event of two? The local MVPA club are not purists, so you'd be welcomed. It would also be nice to have another vehicle in the "foreign" category to keep my Mog company.

Just be advised you can't drive the FPU around on the road by itself, or at speed. Very unstable and have a tendency to sit on their nose.
My son drives LVSRs (MKR-16) in the Marines, drove LVS (MK-48 etc) before that, and has told many amusing stories of what his fellow drivers have...
Definitely not! A lot of trailers will not clear, some will just squeak by.
An example is my M128 behind the M931A2. To clear the rear tires on turns, I have to flip the landing gear pads vertically behind the gear legs and strap them there, then I'm fine. If I don't flip them up, they...
You might talk to Earl at Int'l RepoDepo, he has imported a bunch of them from eastern Europe over the years. Don't know if he sold his BRDM yet, but it was nice.

I drove the V in the rain coming back from the Burnet airshow a few weeks ago, wasn't a lot of fun! Someone asked about how the windshield wipers worked, I demonstrated by wiping my finger across my goggles!

I imagine that since yours is set up to be operated 'buttoned up", all that glass would make a big difference. I drive mine around the farm in the "driver low" position sometimes for fun, don't want to try it in traffic!
Stock V visibility is better than you would think from looking at it...
The ISO bed was Marine-specific, and is the same on M813s and the M939 series.
It looks the same as the bed on the MTVR, but it is not, I know because I measured them! The M813/939 beds are 15' long, the MTVR bed is 14'. Which is why my MTVR fitted-tarp will NOT fit on my M813...:???:

Here is the trailer in question. The deck was just over 16' long, perfect fit for an 18.5' foot V100. Overall, the trailer was around 30'. It would have been great for hauling the V to events where there isn't room to maneuver the m270 (which is a l-o-o-o-o-o-ng trailer!).
There was not...
I have bad tinnitus from many years in the Marines, first in the infantry, then flying helicopters. I always have to rely on my friends to help me find air leaks and squeaks on my trucks. I either can't hear them, or if I do, I can't tell where they are coming from.
But I am lucky because we...
Sam, Allan, and those others who assisted in my quest for accurate dimensions, thank you. [thumbzup]
I was in the enviable position of being far from home next to a short-deck equipment trailer that would be great for hauling the V100 around in tight quarters, and having an M915 tractor to...
Good news on the tires/wheels. [thumbzup]
I see only one battery, converted to 12v? They put a LOT of glass on that vehicle!
Please keep us updated on how you fix it up for service.

I can't see what else they would use the wheels on, maybe they just wanted the tires? Perhaps you could go back and explain how hard it is to get the proper wheels, and offer them a set of tires in exchange for the ones they have.
When we refer to the takeoff tires, most have lots of tread...
Gerald is a great guy, you'll like him!
The 14.00x20 (14.00R20) tires should be easy to get, and for an agency cheap or free. Hooks in Texarkana almost always has some lots up, and a bunch more in reserve that you can access. I bet there are some on MCLB Albany or one of the other Georgia...
Actually the V100 wont take the regular wheels due to backspacing/clearance issues. It would save us V guys a lot of wheel heartache if they would!
Yours looks like it has deuce (2.5 ton truck) wheels mounted dish-out.
Original V100 wheels are rarer then hens teeth!
Give WGTactical a holler...
Are you sure its a 1009? If so, it is re-axled or re-hubbed, since there are too many lugs! :D The stock M1009 only has 6, 1008/1028 et al have 8.
Cheers
