Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: GL Trouble
Mike,
I hear what your saying but if we don't push the idea that maybe GL is not doing things according to the law, then we will be stuck with the same results.
Scrap vehicles need title also :D
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: GL Trouble
I am saying that you are charging me to get a form that should already be with the vehicle. Most if not all states require any vehicle( even scrap ones) to be sold with a title as part of the purchase.
GL is selling vehicles then charging for...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: GL Trouble
I understand that you do issue titles/SF-97's but to charge us extra to get the title is not right or legal I believe. The used car dealer charges to flip the title and get registration/plates. You are not flipping the title to my name, just...
How do you know that you don't have "front wheel assist"? The air hiss is normal and there also should be a "clunk" which indicates the air valves are working to "tell" the transfer case if you in forward or reverse.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: GL Trouble
Answer this question dear GL rep:
Has anyone done due dilegence (sp?) on the legal side of selling vehicles in the U.S. without a title/SF-97?
I am 99% certain in most states its not legal.
Re: RE: GL Trouble
So GL has to make the SF-97 now? I thought the government had them already and just passed them on to GL when the trucks got transferred over?
My used car experience - they could not sell me a car/vehicle unless they had the title in hand, the only turn around time was...
Let me chime in with my .02 cents:
Waste motor oil - I would advise against running it unless you filter it pretty good with filters or a centrifuge. The small pieces of metal in there can and will mess your injectors up.
I am planning on running a Diesel Craft or Spinner II cetrifuge as...
As an owner of one of these "expansible vans", I will chime in here:
the sides do slide out but the floor and ceiling are folded up (and down) against the side when retracted.
I was thinking of adding tracks that cabinets/beds/equipment slide out onto when expanded.
The chassis is a long...
Re: RE: Help save a 10 ton from the scrapper!!
You have to remember that this thing is over width so you would have to take off the rear outer tires to be legal ( and mirrors I think).

The seller called me today and said he lost his storage area so its gotta go or its getting chopped up next week. I don't have the money now but thought somebody on here might...
Update:
The owner of this truck called me to see if I was gonna look at it (I told him last week I might go look at it if I was not busy this weekend, I was). He sounded like he wanted to sell it but I didn't ask how low he would go, just said I might be able to go look at it sometime soon...
I realize most of you are coming from the south or west, but if someone is gonna be by Barstow before or after this event, can you PM me your phone# if you can go look at my truck on base for me? I just would like to get a list of things it needs fixed before I attempt to drive it home (maybe)...
Can anyone with a 5 ton(M39 or M800 series) measure the widest point in front of the windshield?
Either the outside of the fenders or the hubs, which ever is wider?
I am looking at buying a gantry crane to do an engine swap and was wondering how wide of a stance do I need on the crane.
How...
Sweet looking truck.
I am on my second EUC. I saved my first version and the emails about correcting it so when I filled out my second one, I had some Cliff notes to go by. Also, I call them up instead of trading emails. Seems to work better for me.
good luck.
