The projected numbers are the same every year. We are happy to see people show up with their trucks but it is more important to have a SAFE and quality rally than it is to have a numeric goal.
If ten trucks and 20 people show up we are going to have a great time. If 100 trucks with 300 people...
Avoidable yes, and you would not have lost anything if they had been anchored properly or used the proper sized equipment for recovery.
They probably didn't want to take the time or money to recover it correctly.

I read some of the reviews and it sounds as though you do have to give Kabbage your login credentials to your bank. When they say this should be your last resort they aren't kidding.

As for towing, if they use the correct bar you won't need brakes on your truck. Just make sure it is a competent towing company with experience towing big trucks. They tow my 818 with a 60-ton wrecker and i'm guessing he could have run down the road at 70Mph...
Not much out there that will out pull an MV? Ever been to a pull with 4x4 turbo diesel pickups. They easily out pull an MV.
A few of us went to a pull last year and all had 5-tons. Every diesel pickup out pulled the 5-tons except for one that broke and another didn't make it more than a few...
