    Just another bobbed m35

I have heard of mud boggers "welding the sprag" but at least in this post here, welding is strongly discouraged: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/sprag-substitutes.1093/ The reason is that the sprag clutch is an overrun clutch, and the function depends on different rotation speed between...

Bombardier MLVW , anyone know these beasts ?

I mentioned that before....scrapyard near me has two MLVW without beds sitting around. They have been picked at but are substantially complete. The hoarder in me would have dragged them home already but the wife suggested I would then have to live in them and they are simply not that roomy...

    M35 Esoterica

I think it is designed to interfere with the engine stop handle. My ACC switch effectively blocks the STOP pullout from being operated until the ACC switch is turned off. I think that stopping the engine and accidentally leaving the ACC swith in the ON position was the cause of a great many...

Bombardier MLVW , anyone know these beasts ?

I have my US origin M35A2 registered in Ontario. Ontario is similar to other heavy-collector-vehicle-unfriendly states in the US in that it sees your M109A4 as a vehicle that - has never before been registered in Canada, therefore needs to be emissions tested to the current standards (no...

Lights flicker and cut off and the light switch makes a clicking noise.

The light switch contains a self resetting circuit breaker. That is the clicking. You have a short somewhere. Start at the headlights...a wire chafed through and shorting to sheet metal... Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Thinking about pulling the Deuce Trigger Again

The Canadian M35A2 licence built trucks (with a series of improvements, including rear suspension, massive Allison auto box, Ross power steering, but still no dual brakes) that you can buy these days are all major projects as far as I have seen. Expect significant rust as well as missing parts...

Put on your thinking caps. Oil leaking

Just from reading this, two things stand out: - the leak occurred repeatedly, despite taking steps to "do the job right" (good seal, ensuring size and fit, speedy sleeve to be sure) - the indicated loss of crankcase oil on the dipstick does not seem to match the observed volume of continuous...

    Stuttering/starving at acceleration - ideas

While it is possible that the issue is caused by adjustments made during the HH swap, it is also possible that the new hydraulic head now provides full fuel flow - as opposed to the defective old one. This can cause restrictions in the fuel lines to become more prominent. Filters are a good...

    Handling heavy tires

Look, it depends where you are at in your life. Here is another video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgX1xYNfZL0 You "can" take the outer half off with the rim mounted to the truck, replace the O-ring, replace the outer half and reseat the bead. Imagine the wheel in the video remaining...

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?184792-M35A2-fuel-pump-not-working-How-do-you-prime-without/page2 Your airtex is listed at flowing 35 gal/h (free flow) and capable of 14 psi. The recommended pump (see this thread) from RockAuto is the only 24V diesel pump for heavy diesel...

    heater resistor..

A resistor converts electrical energy into heat. That is how they work. The electricity not convereted into heat ("the rest") gets to run the fan motor and it is enough to turn it at low speed. For high speed, the fan motor requires all the electrical energy, so the resistor is not being used. I...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Queen Lola is tucked away in winter quarters, between an Aistream trailer and a PrincessCraft for company. Battery disconnect switch, so batteries will be fine in Spring. I miss her already! And, as luck will have it, it is snowing heavily tonight for the first time. Winter is here!
