The extra ground wire, when properly installed still doesnt prevent it from frying out. The bottom line is the electronics inside the switch are too sensitive to voltage spikes/drops on start up/shut down. You can run the ground wire directly to the batteries, the switch will still fry out...

Those switches suck plain and simple. They are high on the cool factor, but thats outweighed by the possibility of it burning the vehicle up.. There is a reason all the rebuilds and new trucks all have the 3 lever in them instead of that POS.

I assure you Trucklite would not be selling Grote products.. Thats like a Ford Dealer selling Chevy's. They are competitors.. But Trucklite was first to market by a few years with the LED lights.. I do prefer the Trucklites over the Grotes, but thats just personal preference.

www.trucklite.com or www.grote.com Look at the military section. You may NOT need the flasher. Once you have a FULL SET (front and back) of LED's then you'll know.. The earlier LED lights needed it, I dont know if the later ones still do...

It's not the turn switch, its the flasher unit you MAY have to be concerned about. One option is: No Load Flasher, NSN# 5945-01-584-9793
