You got the right ones at the Autozone site. I guess I need to document things a bit better. I rely on memory and make mistakes. It wasn't that far off it put you in the right direction. I can't say enough good about...
If I remember correctly they do only have 1 bolt on the bottom of the mount. They have 2 holes but only 1 is used. I am good with these motor mounts at this point. but I don't have one to take a picture of at the moment. I have my M1009 Mule parked outside the plant if you have any questions but...
It is all good. I had issues with store bought motor mounts. I wore a pair out in one weekend at Rausch Creek and my engine sat down hard on the fuel pump line. About ruined my day at the off road park. I done a lot of research and found the Energy Suspension ones to be the ticket. I was...
Energy Suspension motor mount inserts.
Trick question. It uses the 1983 350 gas engine mounts. Let me get you an Energy Suspension number.
Energy Suspension. 3.11168 Autozone part number 353700. $29.99 each X 2. Worth the money.
That appears to be the interior components of the pump coming apart. I have seen this before when it gets worn and looses lubricity with the LS diesel fuel. Where you able to access the screen. I was inquisitive about it
It is just a simple spacer. A pipe nipple will work. And as far as making a fitting into the water pump. I would just T or Y the current heater hoses and put a ball valve in line on the auxiliary heater lines. I had a rear heater in my M1009 when my boys were younger. I have a few rear heaters...
That's OK. I am NOT above learning. All is well. But hey that's a HMMWV Not a CUCV. Now someone will be looking for all them wires and that fancy do hicky in the vacuum pump hole. Oh the humanity. Have a great day. I am so confused I don't have all them wires on the back of my head. :);)NOT :(
Man Rustystud. You sure keep that back window clean. And the way you blended the window rubber into the paint looks like my new truck that has no window gasket. You may be onto something there.
You are showing a HMMWV crossover coolant manifold. That has plugs in for sensors.
Nothing has to attach to the M8 stud bolts. You should have a spacer between the lower bracket the alternator and the block that an M10 1.5 bolt passes thru to attach Gen 2.
Once again the long empty bolt studs...
Gen 2
Correct. 1 on left and 2 on right. Just like they are in the cluster. Good luck. I think you must ground the wire to Gen 2 to check that voltage because of the grounding. I am weak in this area. I still get them working by trial and error. Most times fresh professionally re-built...
TM 9-2320-289-34
tighten to 20 lbs in sequence
tighten to 50 lbs in sequence
tighten 1/4 turn in sequence.
I wanted to clear this up. I mentioned 90 and was wrong. I hope you are OK with that. i corrected the error of my ways. NOT as good a memory when you torque everything on the vehicles.
I have seen starter drives that were defective and the Bendix does not engage properly. New or not it should be a No Shim mudder starter nose and I would take it to reputable re-builder and pay to have it checked and looked over. Milling flywheels is no fun and gets to be a PITA if you have to...
I thought there were 3 Ftlb torques and then the 1/4 turn
This is my quote. What I was saying in that they have 3 torques that you go thru in sequence and ft lbs and then you do the 1/4 turn. I was typing off memory. That meant3 ft lb of torque spec be it 20 50 90 and then the 1/4 turn. I know...
I understand. I just discovered that it makes it so much easier to sit on my folding chair and work on the engine while it is on the floor. Not that I am lazy. I just like the comfort and find it easier to do the job 100%. I have the white folding wedding chair that I take everywhere. The wooden...
As I grew older I grew smarter in some aspects. I now remove the engine to do any type of major work. I consider head gaskets major work. it is so easy to remove the engine and change out all the seals and gaskets while you are in there. I still change rear main seals in the truck but heads and...
This is the Dana 60 we removed from my Son's truck. It had a bolt in the locker break off the head and get forced thru the bottom of the housing. It was lodged between the ring gear and the housing. Slight leak but still had oil in it. We are taking it to get a patch welded on the bottom of the...
Tonight after work I did manage to get some work done on my M1008 project. Doors are hung and adjusted. And the core support has a radiator and wiring harness attached again. Moving right along. I want to it running in the next 2 weeks so I can drive it out of the garage on it's own power. I...
Have you looked closely at your motor mounts? Description your giving sounds like the motor mounts are sunken and worn out. Changing heads is Not my favorite thing to do under the hood. But I never had to cut away at the cab. Report back your findings. How close is the dipstick tube stud to the...
