I am not very smart and I need HELP - can anyoine assist me in pointing me to where the info is of what the ambulances were equipped with as far as medical supplies - to be a working ambulance of that era. The end project is a working ambulance for bringing to events.
That includes Med M1...
My friend - the only way I knew how to answer was I had to cut the rust out of Buds in the identical area and build a sectionall insert - plus rebuild the whole master cyl area. It may not be perfect to get me into the pearly gates someday - but I will be dead by the time its rusted out on the...
Tigger - I boxed in a rusted area on Dingers frame - but on Debs I used a pressure washer and really good soap at least haf dozen times - then I used acide brite to get any rust out. After it dried out I blew it out - then sprayed oxide primer up in it. Then his got Hurculiner on top of that...
I appreciate the kind posts - thank you.
Having that floor opened gives me all kinds of access to get to the frame - sandblasting the rear compartment - I am really leaning on going white with the rear - its just more sterile in appearance.
I will get to the roof on evenings when cooler to...
In appearance it looks like the rear was boxed in for whatever reason - and maybe a good reason !!
The additional up to date lightling - I just have to agree with the other member - I prefer the military housing and lighting - what is on there looks out of place and stands out.
You paid for...
Reflective heat off the side of the truck (this is out in the open in BFE) so there is no protection - plus I am toooooo lazy to stick up a sun shield. Sticking up something to protect me from the sun would cost me time lost in working on the truck - so I ignore the heat.
It was 116 reflective...
Spent my entire day off down and the 43 - I get another full day off tomorrow to hopefully get something actually done on this instead of screwing around.
I need to finish the little door on the cargo box - inside is done & outside yet to do.
I will keep working on the actual cab itself...
JC - pm me the full VIN # please.
The cab is an early Hino cab from the late 80's and then turned into a model production of an FE - then turned into the NE which discontinued the cab over into a long nose.
Plus if you can get better pics of the suspension - axle to frame areas that will be...
Very professional workmanship.
That stuff does spray awesome doesn't it - reminded me of Centauri paint years ago how nice it sprayed.
That would be a great addition to have a dump assembly onto it, easy to install as well.
keep the pics coming.
Thunderstorms running through the area now so it was inside the doghouse to cut out the two panels above the doors that need to be replaced - got em down and standing by.
I also tee'd in both my air compressors for this weekends mission.
Well here is the magical question answered - what are those reflective shields.
They belong to a Coleman Latern - medical corp with the shield - here is a pic so you can see it.
After finding this and shame on PB for giving these to me - now I have to purchase a latern to go with the truck...
Nope - those are big rusted through areas on both sides - some of the very few on this unit.
One each side behind the doors in the side panels about a golfball size each - other area is the cowl that the windshield frame sits on that is part of the top dash extending out and is the vent...
Kind of along the same line as what Modified said above and having conversations around the two jeeps in the garage (waiting for engine) there was an interesting point made.
When the military used these and were going and doing everything possible with them - mud/snow/bogs/etc - they had an...
