We are sitting 120 miles from Kansas city for the night. Before we left the 2nd time we shifted some stuff in the trailer (It's way full). The dropside is packed with tools/parts, that's the biggest reason I am sending it up north. The M59 will probably be shipped after we get to WY and the move...
Change one. We have a major problem with one of the rear ends. Sounds like a spider gear going out. When doing right turns the rears bind up bad and there is a popping that shakes the whole rear of the truck. RT rear hub is too hot to touch. We made 45 miles checking constantly. Since we are so...
Well a special thanks to 73M819, Twright, CARNAC, and JoeM62. We spent all day finishing loading the M35A2C, pickup, and cargo trailer (just finished a little while ago). The plan is to head west about 0430. Ron, Wendi, and I are going. About ready to hit the shower and go to bed, I think we are...
The manuals usually are, it is getting updated slowly. JATONKA'S site has them. The SS link above also gives a good explanation, but there's no replacement for the manuals.
The manuals show the big differences between models. The 34P shows all the pickup style CUCV's had the same rear springs. The M1028, M1028A1, A2, and A3 had the overload springs added giving it the extra capacity.
Your putting too much thought into this. With your plate, that means there's at least 6 different ones for the multi M275's. Carnac only has about 2 dozen M275's in his database, but there were a heck of alot more produced. I have one plate off a M275A2 that is dated in the late 70's. They made...
I guess he doesn't know you can buy NOS ones all day long for $59 ea. He does do good work though, look at his restorations page for before/after photos.
M275's were gassers, M275A1's were 427 multi's, M275A2's were LD or LDT465's. It is very common for parts (turbo's) to be added by the military. Most A1's were updated with LD or LDT motors. Being 1964 I would guess it was origionally a 427 equipped truck.
Well Twright and JoeM62 worked on mine. Changed a dogbone, added emergency brake spring and c-clip, installed new supercord, changed fuel filters, swapped a leaking wheel cylinder, installed new batteries. There was some more but I just can't think of it off the top of my head right now...
