I like the sticker idea. Would be easy to replace if it was damaged or you repainted the vehicle. Let alone what it would cost to have a good artist paint a mural.
If they let much shavings in the cylinder when the drilled out and taped the spark plug hole they may have scored the cylinder wall/rings causing the low compression.

"Measure top, middle, and bottom thickness of brakeshoes (2) and (23). If minimum thickness is 0.33 in. (8.33 mm) or less, replace."
I know it boils down to semantics, but this is what I found reading through the Md regs.
