I would not say I am "bitter." I would say I have been "educated" through experience. :wink: Let's just say that I would never give GL another penny IF, and this is a big "if," there were another place to buy trucks. They suck...plain and simple.

My friend, read the other posts about GL. They are just about the only game in town so we have to deal with them. However, there is A LOT that you should be aware of when dealing with this company.

You did well. Short of the lights, the newer trailers and the older trailers are about the same. There are a few other differences, like the front and rear sling points, but nothing major. Youg have a beautiful trailer! Congrats!

That truck was due to be scrapped??? That truck is very nice...way above a truck that gets scrapped. Nice save...

Here is a pic of another Air Force deuce... The truck was up at Lakehurst and was really clean. I wanted it, but it went for more than I wanted to spend given it was missing the transmission.

Daniel: It is actually an older trailer with a replacement bed. That is why the bed looks so nice. I have one from a previous sale. You can also tell it is an older trailer because of the small lights...not the later style composite lights. It is a beautiful trailer.

Very clean truck. I was going to add it to my watch list, but I believe it is a sprag truck. There is nothing wrong with a sprag truck, though...

MADSAM: You probably already know this, but the whiffle tree should attach to the front lifting shackles and the towbar attaches to the front axle with the chain clamps. Looks like fun, though!

I agree...there are some great people working for GL; there are also some duds. I don't want to name names but some of the site reps are not only a bit rude, but are downright unhelpful. When HALFTRACK went to pick up his truck recently, the NG guy was standing right there and offered to help...

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. The Soviet truck...either a Kraz or a Ural, but I think it is the former...looks like it could be a runner with some maintenance. Pretty cool!
