might want to include which version of the truck you have to start with. Ride quality has never been a consideration on these trucks for the military, only whether it will handle the load it's rated for, so if you want better quality of ride you might have to look at the civilian world. That...

    Florida Permit/Inspection for MEP installation

So the emergency shutdown requirement is in the 2017 NEC, which Florida has not adopted yet (looks like it is in the update process, by 12/31/2020) , but sounds like a very good idea. The external emergency shutdown is also only required for generators over 15KW. As for the bolted to...

    Florida Permit/Inspection for MEP installation

Also, to refute the "they all have to be bolted down to concrete" part, that is dependant on local codes, there is nothing in the national standards that optional standby generators are required to be bolted to a concrete slab. Going from the Generac install manual: The generator is typically...

    Florida Permit/Inspection for MEP installation

The link didn't come up right, but looks like you're looking at the 2011 NEC and section 702. I checked, and Florida goes by the 2014 version of the NEC, and my jurisdiction is the 2017 version. In neither version did I find anywhere talking about an emergency shutdown. 702.7 Signs (A)...

    Florida Permit/Inspection for MEP installation

It was my understanding that what you said only applies if the generator is permanently wired to the transfer switch. If the MEP is not a permanent install and wired through a plug that can be detached then that wouldn't apply. Looking at the 2011 NEC the only thing similar to this I could...

    What's your EUC wait time

Mine the EUC wa sent April 2nd, submitted May 6th, and approval was May 21. Going to drive down and pick it up next week.

    War pics questions

The second pic from the OP is fully loaded out in the field, and no armor on the rest of the truck, so not likely to be demil in this case. Probably a combination of factors including as was just mentioned aircon, as well as not wanting it turned into shrapnel when hit by bullets, and allows...

    My new M998

The older bias ply tires ran at lower pressure than the newer radials. Then it can depend on the amount of load the truck is supposed to be set up for, some have higher pressure in the back than the front in some situations.

    M1046 Door Armor Louvers

Not armor. It's a Combat Identification Panel (cip), changes how the vehicle looks through infrared to more easily identify friendly vehicles at night. Same piece as on the middle of the hood. Not on the rear doors because it's not necessary there, and not all HMMWVs have rear doors. Basically...

Appears to be a few at Yermo waiting for demil

I'm guessing those ones with the armor walls but no top are what the M1123s look like before the demil. Certainly explains why there are so many with virtually no miles on them, who would want to ride like that if anything else was available?

    What's your EUC wait time

I won my truck 3/27, so just before you did, today I got an email telling me that the status for EUC changed from "Sent" to "submitted." So from the sounds of it I likely have a few more weeks of waiting.

M1025A2's who bought one of the 8

Sounds like they'll let you have the 90% back until the EUC clears, when you have to pay it again. You'll get a couple dollars in interest in a savings account, maybe, but then lose it again when you have to pay another wire transfer charge. That's assuming though that they actually process...

HMMWV Bill in Washington State...Testimony help needed

Here's a copy of the guidance they put out, available at all the licensing offices. Unfortunately it does say that having a clean form 97 does not equate to being suitable for on road use.

Just purchases M1123, need hauling advice.

Thank you, very useful picture to see where they are actually lifting from.

HMMWV Bill in Washington State...Testimony help needed

EDIT: it's not directly about the original topic, but since this is what comes up when I search for titling HMMWV in Washington, this seemed like an appropriate place to add it. If it's too far off topic I apologize, and hope someone will point out to me a better place to put it. It's been a...

Can these HMMVR frame measurements be correct?

I can't answer the question directly, but I'm sure it also depends on what year/version of the HMMWV that you are talking about. I think the earlier M998 had a lighter frame, but the newest uparmored ones can weigh in at twice what the early ones did, so those dimensions don't surprise me at...

    HMMWV Battery replacements

I know it's been a while, but thought I would add something to this. I found one, and only one website that lists the 6TMF as a 1225CCA battery. They also listed it as AGM, which it is not. It's just the Maintenance Free version of the 6TL, still a flooded lead acid battery. Every other...

Getting a Humvee titled for on road use in Michigan

    24-12v conversion diagram any help?

The early M998s had a 24v 60 amp generator, no tap in the middle for 12v. If you used the 12v from the rear battery, the front battery would get over charged, and the rear battery would never get back to being fully charged. A good way to kill batteries if you were drawing more than a very...

    24-12v conversion diagram any help?

I'm kind of new to 24V wiring in trucks, but since it's a dual output alternator, can the alternator be hooked up to the starting batteries as normal, then wire a third battery in parallel with the second battery, and possibly use some type of an isolation relay to separate it from the system...
