Fired up about the track people too and the non-existent safety........
Would haven't have been a good evening if the Dodge that broke and went through the concrete wall before the MV pulls had been on our side and hit the people on it. Something broke and although the truck stopped inertia...
Jayco was a staff volunteer for the event and I think he knows how much weight was in there. They were running the 4x4 3/4 ton modifieds and I didn't see them pull any out. Maybe 40,000 or so. He had mentioned 55,000 but I don't know for sure.
The big thing is that the trucks connections...
I believe so. The first time Jayco pulled (video uploading now) he said it caught him early. He can explain it better. No, I did not take my M813 out on the truck although Gimpy rode over with me and tried to talk me into it.
Last night:
First video is JW4x4

Although Jayco went first I have the videos backwards. I did not video Jayco's second pull (he did much better the second time at 225').

RMTaunton is the Special Operations Sgt for the rally so you will need to coordinate with him on the location (load out area) for safety and wrecker ops.
Beer or not.
At this time I know of only two heavy operations, one engine swap and a bed swap/install of some kind.
I don't recall any of mine looking like that but whatever end you put on the engine you have to cut one inch of it off. Otherwise it kinks and cuts down the flow.
On the dirt road past registration in the back open area past red barn. Due to the loss of space in the field area it was deemed unsafe to have wrecker operations in the field area.
I have no opinion on the beer. As the CO of the rally this year I must set an example of sobriety.
(Stella Artois, Yeungling, Miller Light in the new resealable cans. All in an unmarked brown paper bag please.)
Wrecker/Load Out/Special Operations will not be anywhere near the main field this year. I do like the idea of the crane operator only following ground person orders, and 47 of them at once either. Thank you Ron.
