While I understand the desire for an overdrive with a 4.56 gear ratio.
In stock form a 700R4 is a wimp, they are prone to heat failures and cost nearly triple to rebuild vs a TH400.
I had an 87 GMC1500 that I used in construction, when the 700R4 went south and the trans shop wanted $1800 to...
The u-joint caps are likely rusted, the double joint has a ball/spring thing in there, some PB blaster may break loose any surface rust. I would think the worst case is 3 new u-joints and the ball kit, which may set you back another $60 plus labor. If the front yoke is removed be sure to align...

Most newer plows have electric pumps, so that should not be an issue.

They way the gov't works, I would think these acquisition cost #'s are the last price paid for that model & not necessarily what that particular truck costed.

105 Springs?
I was thinking a set of deuce front springs were the way to go...............
I didn't think 1 1/2 ton trailer springs would be strong enough.

Well despite the misspellings that many are whinning about and despite the search function not searching for what it was asked to search for "turn up fuel"
this thread came up in the first few of about 500 threads, most of which that have nothing to do with turning up the fuel.
Well I decided o try a search.
Typed in "turn up fuel"
and here is what it got me.

The classifieds are not accessible via the resources tab if you are not logged in.
as such they do not reach an audience that are not registered SS members.
They can be accessed from the main page without being logged in, only if you click on a random ad.
Curious, as these 6tl's are almost square, what are you calling the sides or ends?
I've used the drop & bounce method in the past with some success
but haven't tried the hammer yet.
