i think i broke my winch...i broke it.. please help

The shear pin should break when the winch gets overloaded. It is hard to say that it would have stopped your damage, but it would be nice to know. We sheared three trying to load this beast with the tandems frozen. A buddy pulled a dummy with his 5 ton and broke a couple of internal parts. I...

    IP Rebuild

We have a very good pump shop here with a flow bench. If you would like, I would check to see about cost for testing. We actually have three pump shops with flow benches that I know of, but the one is an independent that does really nice work. Glen

How noisy is your 6.2 lit. M1009

He may have something, but I think it has a lot to do with timing. I think the engines with more advance knock harder. I wish my M1008 was a little louder, my first M1008 really banged away. It also had much more power and better fuel economy. Glen

    rusty wheel causing death wobble?

I would look really hard at the tire on that rusty wheel, if you think that corner is causing your issues. I have found more than a few fair tires with nasty bubbles or belt separation. Put both front tires on the rear, set your truck up on stands and spin them up to the point that the wobble...

    cucv charging system m1009

One alternator for each battery. You undoubtedly have an alternator with issues. I had one that had fits for awhile, then the triode quit and there was no charge. Glen

    Just an idea about bobbing

I think he would have a tremendous amount of torque roll on the differential' Compression of the spring would be fine, but I think it would roll badly the other way. Could be wrong though, it would not be my first trip down the wrong road! Glen

fuel guage goes way past full on M1009

Both of mine go way past full, about 1/4 the width of the meter. It takes about 100 miles for the needle to start moving and another 50 to 75 miles to get down to "full" Glen

    Injured Working On Blazer

Funny you should post this today. I was standing on a 5 gallon bucket, only the lid, adjusting the belts on my M1009 and was telling myself how stupid that was. My bucket had about three gallons of solvent in it, not nearly enough ballast for my over-sized carcass. I hope yours was a clean break...

Anybody here score one of the M820 expandsible vans at Ft Riley today?

Wonder if the GL guy will tell me where they went, if a scrapper locally bought a few, I will check on parts.

820's at Fort Riley---- SO CHEAP

It would have been fairly easy to combine two trucks and get a straight one. I do not remember looking at a single box that did not have some kind of issue. Southeast of where these were sitting must be 300 of their replacement trucks. It was pretty overwhelming to look down those long rows of...

820's at Fort Riley---- SO CHEAP

I seriously thought about buying one to run around to local shows and stuff with, but by the time I fixed whatever was wrong with the boxes and then the regular issues of a truck that had set for an extended period, I would have been deeper into it than something I could use regularly. I do not...

    m715 questions

I violated my M715 pretty badly, put a Chevrolet V8 in it, converted it to 12 volt and put winches on both ends, lockers in both differentials and after market tires, a huge improvement! (the tires) Anyway, it was certainly a lot of fun and all of my boys enjoyed driving it. I would let them go...

    Insuring these big guys!!

Not through Allstate, that is for sure. I called my Allstate agent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday about insurance and he said he was checking for me. He went through calling seven underwiters available to him and struck out. At least he tried.

    m715 questions

You can drive the M715 as a daily driver, I did for a few years. The heater is minimal and the defroster is non-existent, but I doubt you need that much in California anyway. The M715s were pretty crude, really simple, sheet metal inner door panels, two batteries between the seats in a large...
