Sorry, i thought i had read on here that the "ring" was used for winching somhow, but i guess it is for "tie down" purpuses, I still belive the "wheel winch" idea would work.
How did the old gmc trucks use that "eye" on the front hubs as a winch then? I understand that you would not have a garenteed %100 of your power going to it but it seems that tha resistance that that oposing tire(s) would be greater because of the diameter of the tire in relation to the diameter...
looks familiar, Done that plenty of times. My best advice, buy another deuce with a winch! that works well for me. If i was in your situation i might try putting 2 more wheels on the front (duals) and the cable between the rears trick. putting the tires on is gonna suck but it would help it "float"
