:grd:Cover section been working on is now hanging over the frame completely. Came in for some cold water (with a little salt for replacement from sweating) . It occured to me this morning that..... if you HAVE to remove and fix a ripped cover after your whole LME is up... this whole idiocy of...
got thru first set of storms. Was not too bad the time I went out to lift up to let water drain. Have LMTV under it so can stand on it to lift cover. Supposedly in an hour another couple hours of rain is coming thru.
phew... hope it stays like this or better..... seems to be typical here and weather report gets pushed later and later.. Now they are saying 7am rain start and only lasting around three hours
took about 14-16?hours on own over last two days to get second half of cover almost half way on. Cover is just shy of the Ridge Beam/Perlun and strapped / tied all over the place.. AKA- wall and half the roof is sorta up.
and of course..... just looked at weather... heavy rains and...
Well some may remember was going to attempt to keep going by wearing a liquid heated suit. That failed cause could not climb in it. I mean I can climb about anything...... but could not keep the tubes of heated liquid attached to the 24v heater.... w/out back packing it.. makeing much...
Ive considered an old school Universal one with Brake Pedal switch and a servo motor and you glue a magnet somewhere or pick up a signal somewhere.. A RoadKing? version with heavy duty servo motor for Big Rigs was prefered unit for 3116.... but they went out of business long long ago. So now...
If you will be in AZ most of time.. go to two battery as suggested. Weather there you wont need four. If you upgrade significantly your alternator as suggested.. AND end up with her in cold country (with no ether start esp.) then go to four battery.
not sure this will help anyone... but throwing it out there if so (NOT MINE.... just saw them on Market place)

mount tucked up in the area an ATV winch..... so when you pull the whole thing out..... it is holding it a bit..... then winch it up and tuck it away.. or lower it onto the tounge of trailer after you hook it up..... and strap it to the tongue??
hopefully the bent stuff is from Idiots moving it with a Fork Lift. Which is actually a common issue.
that said look close at every inch of housing of transmission for cracks (in case issues there is why originally got taken out of service). Also check rear pumpkin... , Ujoint, pinion...
did you find the hidden ground strap in front of the truck and one under the fuse panel (PDP)

have thought of a boat too. ... or better said..... dreamed. If did would lean too micro Jet boat so could scream across a water crossing to affix winch lines on other side in case things go bad in the crossing orrrrr.. bank on exit side is questionable...
PS- this thread started before their was a forum in here for building MV trucks into RV's. There may be similar discussion over in that now on this topic

Me too. My understanding you need to ground the truck. I thought about a spring loaded (or just heavy weighted) Rebar made into a spike. Pull a lever and it stabs into ground. Before leaving you crank a handle orrr?? to pull it back up.
while hope no one is ever in bad situation needing to pull that on side of road or trail. If so though maybe a chain binder and breaker bar.. or you own winch up front orr??? could serve the same purpose
