    I still have that same tapping noise too,and I can't figure out where its coming from,it's driving me nutts! It sounds like its coming from the turbo side toward the back.

    I just snuged mine using a middle to end cross tightening pattern.If they dont leak your good to go.

    Those valve cover gaskets are most likely reusable,i just performed this procedure a couple of week's ago and my gaskets were fine.

    Could be valve train noise. Pull the valve covers and check valve adjustment,while your in there,check rocker arm cap bolts for proper tork.

    I agree.You can adjust the jack to keep the spindle centered in the hub. I like to use several pieces of 1" pvc pipe, and a 2'x2' x 3/4" plywood to roll the wheelset off and on.

    For gauges,I take some blue tape and make a sheet ,then draw the correct size circle with a compass,then cut it out with a razor knife,now you have a perfect tape circle to mask the gauge face with.
