    What Up?

Ok it's been a month & no one has posted here :? The cab mounts / floor and many other parts of my M882 have lost the rust battle. I want a rust free body for it. Problem is I can't afford it  So I've been giving some thought about................... Trading my rare M886 for a rust...

MY dodge M880 (i think thats whats its called)

I'm guessing that it doesn't have a data tag on the dash? Could have been, a M880, M882, M883, M884 etc. even a civilian truck. hard to say without more info. The M880 / M890 were the base of the series, they would have normally come with troop seats and a canvas like cover, among other things.

    m880 suspension?

They were basically the same thing, the rear bumper was reenforced for the pintle hook tow hooks were added up front, the engines are non-EGR , some had 12 & 24 volt, there are differences, suspension & running gear were the same as the W200 and they LOOK far tougher than a civilian one.

    M880 Registration Numbers

Yes they do, but do the registration #'s of all M880's start with NG?

    m880 suspension?

Yes they are, Why we call a civilian truck with a 2500 lb payload capacity a 3/4 ton is a mystery to me. The military said ok 2500 payload that's 1 1/4 ton. You can get 99% of the parts needed for these things at your local parts store, just tell them it's a 77 W200.

Hello all. A little direction needed from the experts neede

First off, I have to disagree that a full time wears out the axle sooner than a part time. The full time is constantly getting lubed where a part time sits in one position the lube eventually runs off, condensation can build up, rust occur then you engage the hubs and mix the rust &...

    Which tires?

    Here's the 31-10.50R16.5's installed. [thumbzup]

    Which tires?

No problem there. although with that size tire, in certain off road conditions the fronts could contact the fender. although the day that I did have those tires on the M886 and hit a few trails, nothing rubbed. My M882 sits higher in the front, but has seen some serious off roading and the...

    Which tires?

Well I went with the BFG's to keep the stock appearance. The wide 16's with their current tires are going on a misfit truck for now. ( 84 S10 Ext Cab, working on extending the cab for a full back seat , putting the dana 60 & 44 from a parts M882, might even go with Mopar engine & trans too)...

    Which tires?

Oh and if I go with the Mud Rovers it will cost $80 more than the All Terrains Then there's always the NDT's

    Which tires?

The M886 needs tires. I can get BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's in a 31-10.50R16.5 The original 9.50-16.5 are pretty close to 31". I could also take the wheels & 285/75R16 (33-11.50) Mud Rovers off the M882 and get new 33-12.50R16's Mud Rovers for the M882 putting them on some 10" wide rims like...
