So David, I see the problem with you %Load meter "fixed itself", how did you make out with adjusting the droop on your governor? Did you get it within spec, or is there some other problem causing excessive droop under load?
Congrats ChrispyNY, welcome to the green diseased group of us.... Looks like you got yourself a good deal! Now be prepared to spend countless hours researching and wanting to buy more and more stuff!
Once you see your paid invoice, set up an appointment to pick it up and let the adventures...
Yup... Got Green equipment disease! If the government owened it and its for sale on GL, I look at it and often want to buy it!
When will RI ever sell a 5 ton?? , So I don't have to transport it far!!! Still waiting for anything good to go up for auction in RI actually!
Guy in RI is Johnpfd1@comcast.net
Suprman PM me some info on your -003, condition hours price etc... I've got 3 -002a's and have been thinking of getting a 003a
Hey Chrispyny, I'm in RI and know of a fellow SS member nearby who upgraded to -003a's and now has two MEP-002A's that he is looking to sell.
I believe one of them is fully tested and ready to go, the other is fresh from GL. One or both are tier II resets with only a couple hours on them.
If...
Wow! $7500 and it required mutilation! That's about $333 a ton, probably 40% more than a scrap yard would pay right now, unless you stripped out all the copper and aluminum and sold it all separately. Maybe it was bought by a company with the ability to shred and separate ferrus and non ferrous...
Ah, nice to hear from another New Englander with a MEP.... Like everyone said, a year under those conditions isn't much, but take a good look for stow-aways living where they don't belong, like in the air cleaner and tubes or under the cover near the glow plugs, any place they can sneak in and...
So did anyone happen to catch the closing price on this generator lot? Just curious to see what they sold for compared to what they potentially would have been worth if not sold as scrap. Also, has anyone ever had any experience with scrap lots requiring mutilation? Would they be required to be...
Ok guys, I can no longer find this auction in my watchlist or in my closed watch list for that matter, so I assume it is over and now safe to discuss... Did anyone see the lot of MEP-004's that were being auctioned off for scrap??
Seems like a gigantic shame that these things had to be destroyed...
3rdaavbn, not sure what your mechanical ability is, but you might want to look at the TM and try using a 9v battery to power the field to check for a VR problem.
Also, are you getting zero voltage, or do you get voltage while holding the start switch (flashing field) but immediately loose it as...
If you're still looking for filters, I get mine from Rockauto.com They are about $5 for the Fram CH-6PL oil filters and maybe $7 for the C1125 PL fuel filters.
As for price, The price of -003a's and -002a's is abnormally high right now, so you probably paid a little more, but if you want it...
I'd say this was the right place to post your comment!
I live North of you in RI and the same storm passed through yesterday, luckily I'm close enough to the SE that we only got 6" of snow and no power outage.
I bought 3 MEP-002A's ( 2 from GL and 1 broken unit on e-bay) to power my house, my...
Looks Awesome all cleaned up! I'm sure you have already done lots of research on SMAW welding. Once you've gotten in some practice time you'll quickly get the hang of it. You'll learn lots of tricks as you go. Also do a little research (Bet you already did ) on the rod designation for different...
Mike, if you verify the solenoid is moving correctly per Dependable's suggestion and the starter is still engaging, try removing the switch wire ( S terminal in the TM diagram ) see if that stops the starter. If it does you'll have to trace back and see why you are getting power on the switch...
Hi JR, I wouldn't worry about the 2" difference having much of a negative affect on your wheel bearing life. I think that note applies more to off road trucks where people use grossly altered wheels ( backspacing ) and/or adapters to greatly increase the track width of the truck. You aren't...
Yup, those are the ones... I bid on the not so nice one in MD that sold for $1100 and I bid on the other one in DE that went cheaper. I agree, the 1 hour on the clock made me leary too, plus I'm a good 7 hours north, so I bid cheap if I have to travel far. Needless to say I didn't end up winning...
Hi Gordon,
Now that the auction is over and we are free to talk about that MEP-004A you were looking at, did you end up winning either of them?
I saw that the one with slightly more hours went for a really reasonable price. The other was considerably more, but both looked like really nice units.
What do you mean? It still works for me, I just checked. Do you mean because the auction in question is too old, or this function in general doesn't work anymore?
Nice, thanks Jerry. I don't think I ever tried searching that site. Came across it once but never thought to keep checking back there.... looks like a few things right down the street from my house in the next town over!
Thank you... I now have another site to kill time at work....
