Doing split rims suck. Doing them with incorrect tools REALLY sucks. I prefer to pay to have them done when I can.

Is it a gasser? If so there's a NOS harness on ebay for $75 out of CA. I bought 2 they're nice and you wouldn't be dealing with 60 year old stuff.
