The rear overhang is shorter and pintle inset to allow the ability to dump. My M48 is the same way, the overhang is less than the standard M44 chassis to allow hooking up to a trailer. The M342 is the same wheelbase as the standard M44 chassis, it just has the overhang shortened. The M275's...
I'll have a small rental near McCoy at the end of the month. In june i'll be back with my truck and stopping at Gimp's on the way to pick up some stuff, so it is at least partly possible.
Several months ago I had contact info for a dealer/yard in WI that was relatively (100 miles or so) close to McCoy. I can't find the info and am headed to WI at the end of the month. Anybody know who the guy with the yard is (no not Alpha either:mrgreen:).
If you have 3 trucks you need to spend $50 for a Motive pressure bleeder. It will be the best investment you could make. Makes bleeding brakes a one person job. Remember to start at the airpack then go to the far rear, and work from there.
The M342 is not the shorter wheelbase. The M47 and M59 are the short ones. The M342 was designed to be longer so more could be hauled including troops (which the 47/59 were not designed for).
I am not really a big A3 fan and really don't follow them but CSI did have one last time I was there (about a year ago) that should have been a parts truck. They did have several in different stages of work so who knows what's left on it by now. There's no question adding the winch by itself...
M1009's get good gas mileage due to the 3:08 gears. You don't want to get much bigger tires due to the 3:08 gears (it would really be a dog then). OD Iron makes an A/C kit and only the starter is 24V.
I am working out of Belle Chasse LA (live in GA) for the next 18 months. Usually here unless deployed. I have a M1028A3 dually that will be on Ebay again next week.
Are these the half-round tents covered in vinyl? Shirleys Surplus just south of Atlanta in Barnesville has dozens of them for sale. I am guessing he has the manual or spare parts for them.
