In TN, you can tag just about any vehicle if you're willing to fill out enough paperwork and jump through enough hoops. I know other states are more strict though.
hmm. That's different than a M62. I would have figured they were all the same. The reason I was under the M62 was to shatch the t-case PTO. As I got to looking at it, I realized that it didn't have a shift lever. The in-cab shifter went directly to the power divider. I ended up leaving the PTO...
The best I can tell, they look the same from the outside. They only 5-ton t-case PTO I've seen I couldn't get a very good look at it though so I could be wrong.
Wreckers use a different t-case PTO. It bolts in the same place as the other t-case PTO but is engaged all the time (you can't shift it in and out of gear). Wreckers do their shifting in the power divider. The wrecker PTO sends power to the power divider any time the foot clutch is out. Atleast...
I got the two trailers home today. I won't post how I did it but I didn't haul them and didn't make two trips ;-). Everything went fine.
I had plans for the two trailers but I sold one of them before I even made it home. I stopped at a local market on the way home and a guy I know came up to...
The site really needs to be organized better. The powers that be say that they are going to move the info off the old site to the new one and organize it better. It hasn't been done yet. I've been around here a pretty good while and can find stuff pretty easy but I can see where the newer...
I think there are some people that shouldn't vote. Some people walk into the booth and vote for somebody not knowing a thing about them. I know several people that vote completely opposite of what their values are. Their excuse is "I've always voted for XYZ party and that's how I vote". I could...
I think I misunderstood your first post. I think I've got it now. ;)
There is a parts cross reference over on the old site, I think. I know it was there and I assume it's still there. You can also do a search and find many helpful hints as to where to find parts locally. Or if all else fails...
I bought a 1952 that came from GL about 4 years ago. They really didn't start dumping the M35 trucks until just a few years ago. Before that they just kept rebuilding them or they didn't get used that much and didn't wear them out. As far as a M35A2 goes, A 1952 (rebuilt with multifuel, air...
For instance, you bought a trans from me for $300. I know you mentioned you could get one cheaper from others but they were further away. I really wasn't advertising that I was selling the trans (I was debating if I was going to sell it or keep it as a spare) but I saw you're post, knew that I...
:ditto:
Mine did the same thing. I used to brag about how good my push button switch was until it almost burnt my truck down. I believe I'll stick with the old lever style from now on.
No argument from me about the tailgate latches. They are alot more aggravating than the standard bed.
I have the troop seat problem also but I thought it was because I don't have the braces that go on the rear of the troop seats? Do you have the braces?
Just make sure they are military filters. I ordered a set of filters from Rapco. Mainly because I wanted the military primary fuel filter (the aftermarket replacement will work but it's not the same). When they came in the mail they were NAPA filters. I've got a special deal at NAPA for filters...
I had one weighed one time that I was trying to sell. Sorry, I don't remember what it weighed. I know I never could get it sold because of the high cost of shipping. I ended up putting it on a truck I had without a top and sold the truck.
I have to agree with Gimpy, they are pretty handy. I would trade my bed for a whole truck though (I've got a spare dropside bed I can put back on). :-D
Donkdonk, I'm glad you posted that. As long as you're not commercial, you can go up to 80,000lb without CDL (according to federal law). I understand that some states have tougher restrictions though. TN follows the federal law.
