I don't have one of those vehicles, but if it's just a battery cable, you can buy a new negative end from NAPA (get the good bolt through kind of a good crimp on one) and get a ring terminal of the appropriate size from NAPA as well. If it were mine I would use 2/0 welding cable (easily...
Hi again folks,
Yesterday afternoon, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to look into the control box assembly (the one on the side beside the fuel tank) on my second generator. Much to my dismay  , Inside I discovered a few problems, I was hoping I could get some help and advice...
I won 2 during that event on GL, If memory serves I think I paid a little less than $525 for that one. Not too bad of a deal, but that's just my 2cents .
Those meters are just the tip of the iceberg ZB. For me it's just the tools of the trade, and if I have to trust my life to something...
Hello all,
I can't express my appreciation enough to all of the members out there who have posted information about the MEP-003a gensets in the past, both to my questions and to others questions. The information has been invaluable.
Today, 1 week after I got my sets unloaded from the...
well, the pm didn't go through, kicked right back to me saying you need to clear some space. Hopefully one of the admins reads this thread and jumps in.
That's wild. I'll send you a PM and see if it comes through. maybe it'll clear up if youreceive something???? If not maybe one of the admins can get involved??
PM sent
Hello all,
I was wondering if the resources section is locked or if there is a trick to posting new information to it?
I have come across a lubrication order LO-5-6115-585-12 (attached as a pdf, right click to open it) I thought some of the members might like to see in the resources section...
Go into your user profile and under the section "Edit Options" there is a section about messaging and notifications. Make sure the box is "checked" about receiving messages about new private messages.
Also make sure the "Drop down box" is selected to "Instant E-mail Notification" under the...
The 24 volt M1008 ( and any 24 volt starter) does turn over faster than any other 12 volt starter due to the configuration of the starter motor itself. Starter motors are what we call series wound motors. Meaning the field windings and the armature windings are electrically in series with each...
You could always hard pipe a weatherproof receptacle on the "back-up line side" (generator side) of your transfer switch if you're using one, and mount it near where you are going to park the trailer. Then the Genny is portable, but you still have the power hook-up for the house when needed.
Is my math off or was that a typo? 125 minutes is 2 hours 5 minutes versus 2 hours 30 minutes. For the hassle of trying to find the 6tl's, I'll eat the 25 minute drain difference.
I just picked up 2 Interstate size group 24's with 800 CCA @ 0 degrees for $89 each. From what I've heard and read in this thread the 6tl's only had about 850 CCA or so. The size group 24 battery is about 10 1/4 x 6 something so it will fit inside the battery box of the generators nicely...
I recently came into possession of a couple of generators, only one of them is missing the fuel cap. I was looking on E-bay last evening and saw a cap listed for I believe it was an m109, but it looked just like the one I need. I didn't bid on it because the auction was ending and didn't have...
Does anybody live close to, or is anybody going to Chambersburg PA (Letterkenny) to pick-up something, who would be willing to do a quick preview for me?????
This will just be a quick visual look and see. The event ends 4/23/09, if anybody is willing please shoot me a pm for details.
Well, I had my "neighbor" (call it what you will at those distances) come over today with his back-hoe and unload the gennys for me. Closer inspection of the sets shows me that the one with more hours seems to be complete, though the oil was drained out, possibly leaked (the drain valve appears...
With the gear reductions in those kind of hoists, load going up shouldn't be too much. However the FLA (Full Load Amps) draw on a 1 HP 3 phase motor should only be somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 to 3.5 amps at low voltage.
Check the motor nameplate and it will list the operating voltages...
One has 1500hrs and the other one has 3100. The higher hour unit appears complete minus batteries. The lower hour unit is missing the blower wheel and rotor, but I'm hoping I can find one (anybody have any ideas), also it has a fuel tank from a mep-002a that's missing the cap, but at least...
