Welcome. I would say the 3/4 ton is twice as desirable and valuable as the 1/2 ton. The bodies look similar, but I cannot say if they are the same towards the rear.
Those came out of MRAPs. Uncle was big time liquidating all the Iraq leftovers about 5 years ago, that is when those were sold. Nowadays there are some on ebay, search mrap seat.
4 years on a lead acid 6TL is as good as it gets. Those things are awful. Get some Hawkers AGMs and put them on a defibrillator and you will have much better results.
Sounding REAL good now! Did you not read the comment about you having THE ULTIMATE deuce? Looking at maybe $300 of parts to get the front winch operational. Rear about the same with some diligent horse trading around. I would not let that truck go for love or money.
Are you calling the 3 lever switch the "dimmer"? There is a separate knob that dims the instruments, just making sure you figured that out before advising ripping open the dash.
I can't answer any of your questions but I have a few of my own. What identifies this M38 as being CDN? The main data plate says "Ordnance Corps" but it appears someone riveted that on recently. Looks real good in the pictures!
