You're assuming I was just talking about the moderators - I wasn't. Just look at some post where a newby went over the line and see all the posts afterwards telling them not to do that and 90% at not from the moderators. I have great respect for the people who run this site and have no...
Okay, "screamed" was a harsh word. How about "have our hands smacked?" Humor and irony are totally useless in typed conversations.
So, about that trailer at Ft Sam...
Well I didn't think they were getting the space for free, but every time someone says "hey what is this at so and so" we get screamed at for collusion. Still going to happen if I say "look to the left at that 1009 at Redstone?"
Not sure it's use but it's a combination wood/aluminum trailer that has fold down shelving inside and a small drop shelf that opens to the outside. The tongue folds up against the front and there is also a jerry can holder and spare tire mounted on the front. I saw a couple at a GL site that...
What are the major differences between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton M1009? The TMs just call all M1009s 3/4 ton. That's what I was hoping for but when I decoded my VIN it comes out as a 1/2 ton.
As folks have already said, Welcome and Thanks for Your Service.
I'm a UofI grad and you might know my former room-mate CPT Mike McDonald from Grangeville. We were in the 1/161st Infantry in the WA Guard and then in the 1/303rd Armor in the WA Guard also. He was out many years until ID was...
First thing is to get rid of the white stickers on the doors and back. I belong to the Alamo MPVA so it'll be at the club events but it's really just going to be my daily driver. I'm planning to keep it stock other than A/C (which I found a kit for that doesn't really look like A/C is there) and...
Getting a little long winded there so thought I ought to save it.
Everything seems to work good so far. I'll post the pics to show the little things that need attention.
One thing is that the front end "floats" quite a bit while driving. I just went around the block and didn't get it over...
My first M1009 was dropped off last night and to say I was excited would put things mildly. I was having some anxiety attacks as the delivery date was unavoidably delayed but the wait was worth it.
The transport company (Buckner - I highly recommend them) rolled in right around 7pm so...
Well if you're looking for a M101A1 prices are looking kind of scary. I was watching 3 of them today on GL. One went for $340 which is a little over my price range but still ballpark. The second went for $630 but the kicker is the one that sold for $1107. The military acquisition value was...
Hey Sarge, how about a M116A2 with a 10kw genset? It's got surge brakes so hopefully I can pull it. The M1009 is supposed to be in this weekend so I'll try to swing by and you can tell me how great it looks next to the Golden Throne barn!
Everyone needs to read page 8. Vietnam Veterans are selling their lot at $650 plus shipping. Doesn't do any good to keep asking whose selling them if you don't take the time to read the posts.
Check out www.Bucknertransport.com These guys are delivering a M1009 to me and have been super all along the way. They're out of GA so in your neck of the woods. Don't let the RV transporter tag fool you.
